Upon an occasion, ‘Umar (RA) wanted to assist an elderly, blind woman, attend to her domestic work. So, ‘Umar (RA) came early in the morning and when he got there, everything was done. Next day, ‘Umar thinks that he’ll come a bit earlier so he could help this woman. But when he reached to the place, again the work is done. One night, ‘Umar (RA) hid in the place. He saw that in early part of the night a man came with a completely white cloak, attended all the needs of the woman and long before Fajr he left the place. As this person was walking out, ‘Umar (RA) screamed, “O’ friend of Allah! Who are you?” It was Abu Bakr (RA).

Once ‘Aishah (RA) was lying in the lap of Prophet :saw: on a moon-lit night, she (RA), “O’ Prophet of Allah! Equivalent to the stars in the sky, is any of your companions got so much good deeds?” He :saw: said, “Yes, ‘Umar!” Then ‘Aishah (RA) said, “What about my father: Abi Bakr?” He :saw: said, “O’ ‘Aishah! All the good deeds of ‘Umar put together is like one good deed of Abu Bakr!”
