Assalam alakium sisters ( and brothers)

I hope all is going well for everyone , I need some advise/suggestions .......

This question is mainly for my sisters on this forum however brothers are welcome to reply too,

I'm feeling so stressed out lately for the past 1/2 weeks it seems like i just cannot cope with so much going on around me, I've just taken a break from my work (uni) for a little while so I can just relax so thought I'd come here and moan lol

I'm sure there are many sisters (brothers) who are married, working full time and studying part time, and seeing clients at the same time , how do you manage your time , seems like I'm always on the go, always rushing, always got 100 things to do, it gets a bit over whelming and stressful :banghead:......that feels good now thats off my chest

Any suggestions how I can manage my time or you can share with me and everyone how you manage to do all theses things yet be calm and control, any special dua's to help???

Salam sister

hope ur well

i know what ur talking about and its not easy

when i was at uni there was always another exam to revise for we had further responsibilities in our later years when we were treating patients

one of the things i remember my tutor telling me was about organisation, try to prioritise the many things you have to do and allocate a reasonable time to there importance then go for it !

also have you tried making lists that way you dont always have to fill your mind with thoughts of "oh i have to do this and that" you have it written down in front of you so it kind of takes some of the pressure away

try arranging things to fit around your salat rather than the opposite, i was guilty in my first year of uni of doing just that but when i sorted myself out i found things improved for me

all the best, you will be fine, it does get easier

wasalam

But still after reading your post I'm already feeling alot better :o

assalamu alaikum,

sister, im having the same problems! i only work part time but im not even joking it doesnt feel like it. i feel like i work everyday coz im always busy and im always tired too

the saddest thing is bcoz of dat i dont do enuff of what i should do, like reading and listening to lectures etc...its so sad and i think that more than anything has a serious effect on eman. one thing i have learnt is that make time for Allah ta'aala and He will make things run smoothly for you. like those who dont pray coz they say they have no time. but they dont have no time because they dont pray (cant memba who told me that). understand?

anyways, i too am looking for good advice inshaAllah

may Allah help us to utilise our time correctly. Ameen!

make sure ur getting a lot of sleep at night and eating healthy timely meals throughout the day no matter how busy you are. the trick is to plan ahead - keep an agenda if it helps and have designated times for certain things like studying and it's important to have just one day off with no plans because that will be your day to re-energize yourself. i know how it is, there was a time when i had classes 4 days a week and work 5 days a week so on 4 out of 7 days my life was literally just work school sleep, work school sleep, on top of that trying to maintain a social life so im not burned out. try to set aside time to spend with friends so you can just lay back and relax with them. it'll feel good. to be honest i miss being so busy and not having free time because now i have all the free time in the world with no school or work and im just so bored i feel like my brain is melting and im just so bored!!! i miss retail stress :p

ps i should probably be implementing the advice i gave you into my own life because Allah knows well that i hardly get any sleep or eat proper meals anyway :p

Jazak Allah for your advise sister :inlove:

Honest truth sister ... I had NO LIFE ... it was the only way i managed.

The thing to look forward to is when u get ur degree, that will be less burden on ur shoulders :) If u have to work then i understand but if u can cut down, then i would suggest u do so .. esp during the end of terms when u have alot of course work due in and exams.

Hi All

I am having exactly the same problem as some of u.working 4 days a week, studying part and trying to balance that with domestic duties including un-officially(not a registered carer!) caring for a family member.the requirement of my course is a placement which should have started by october, but i still have not managed to secure one as there are simply no extra hours in the day(hope i could do 24 +3 extra hrs every day!!!!).

i will be going back to full time work in Feb, i am just wondering how i will cope then, if i am struggling already.I just need to see al this thru to the summer and then Inshallah all will be over.

But i really wanna now how people juggle work, studies and personal life so well?

treasured soul - If you're married espeically recently you have no say at all about going out or not someone inviting us for dinner or this that and the other I've started saying 'no I can't' and people getting all upset about it lol alhamdulillah my husband is understanding but I guess family and friends don't understand it sometimes

I wish I could reduce my hours at work but my work ppl being very difficult!:torture:InshaAllah I'll have to sort my working hours out so I get some more time for my studies and Allah knows best
Thinking about the end of summer term is stressing me out so I'm just trying to take one day at a time lol

Parwaaz- I pray things get easier for you it must be so difficult doing all that plus looking after a family member the hours in a day are not enough anymore are they.... InshaALLAH only 6 more months left for both of us then it won't be too stressful
I keep telling my self just 6 more month ....if you think about it they'll fly by like anything...

well for me I need lots of encouragment and motivation sometimes it's just not enough coming from myself so that's why I posted here so I can get some of that :o

to be honest I'm already feeling quite postive and motivated:o

I've got quite a lot of work done while been posting here and there

I honestly feel the problem lies within ourselfs, my problem is lack motivation and lack time (you know I have a presentation coming up and sunday evening is usually a 'chill out' day for me) but since the minute I've got up (minus cooking and stuff) I'm quite proud of myself alhamdulillah because I've got considerable work done I'm doing bite size bits and taking a few min break it's working so far alhamduillah

Don't worry ur not alone! I have a similar problem. I work, study and maintain a house. It is hard doing everything at once, people find just working or just studying soo hard and no time and imagine us here trying to do everything at once! I wish I didn't take up my NVQ this year which is work based as I already have a course with open university going along with full time work! It's all too much and it's kicking in now slowly as I feel I've got no free time at all! even in the weekend my time just flies because I've got soo much to do!

Not just cleaning, cooking, studying and working but like you say you have to make sure you see everyone and they come and see you etc, especially being married having ur own house and living alone makes is even harder!

Sometimes I'm thinking what sort of life have I got as I can just about do my prayer's and even then sometimes late so that leaves me with little time to recite the Quran and read Islamic books etc. So I'm hoping for some good advice aswell! :jkk:for the advice so far. Please keep us in ur dua's. :(

i feel for you ruhy but it sounds like you're doing an amazing job so far

im so happy you havent given up most people would have by now

its all too easy to take the safer easier option in life but mashallah you have shown great courage and determination to better yourself through education and workplacement

an individual willing to step out of there comfort zone once in a while will always do well in life inshallah

you need to be proud of what you have accomplished so far and not feel as though its something negative

with great adversity comes strength all that you are going through will strengthen you as an individual and positively develop all the good characteristics you already possess mashallah

remember all the prophets peace be upon them all went through many difficulties in life but this is simply a sign of Allahs love for you so be happy when faced with a challenge and put your trust in him who has power over all things

fear nothing and no one except Allah

Salam aleykum dear sister .
I think the other sisters and brothers already answered your question, but I only have one thing to say, Allah (swt) does not put a burden on us that we cannot hold - keep that in mind inshAllah.
When I'm in a situation where I feel I just can't do it no more, where I just want to give up, I just keep reminding myself of that, and it helps me a lot, alhamdulillaah (:

Mmmm last year at uni is hard!! Even when you have to juggle 101 things a day always keep an hour for yourself, just take one and do the most relaxing thing you can think of like, taking advantage of a bath with candles and the works, reading a book in bed with hot chocolate stuff like this. So even when your running around like crazy you've got something to look forward to at the end of the day, something thats also going to help you relax..

Sister...this may seem like tough love, but it is actually from my very own experience:

You have to stop everything else you are doing and do your assignments. NOW!

Do you think the stress you are feeling now is going to get better the longer you continue to put things off? The healthiest thing for you to do now is the hardest, and that is to get started on what you are supposed to be doing!

Make dua for the strength, and get right to it!

Again sister, this comes from my own experiences in the past...and from my love for you as a sister.
