I am assuming you are asking, how to become a better Muslim?

A good start would be to go to your local mosque and ask your priest, they will probably ask you to pray and read the Quran. Once you read he Quran, then read it again and again until you truly understand its meaning. It isn't easy to grasp and I have not understood it myself but once you do understand it, and understand the punishments and rewards, you will understand how this life is a Test and why you should be God Fearing. Remember, God loves you, but fear God so you can stay away from the Haram, and Love God so you can get closer to Him through Islam.

visit a hospice, meet the dying

recite Quran and fast for the sake of Allah (swt)

Another way is to strengthen your intention (niyyah) that whatever you do is for the sake of Allah, and equally feel it within you that He will reward you whether here or in the hereafter. Equally avoid rumour-mongering, smoking, alcohol, fornication, moving with bad guys and pray constantly in the morning, afternoon, and during the night. Cry for your sins and avoiding backbiting. Be contented with your sins and avoid talking about those of other people.

We don't have priests in Islam... Imams yes, but not priests.
