Asalaamu alikum people.

As I'm not that great at many things but feel that EVERYONE should share what they can do and know, I thought I'd do a simple fortnightly masterclass in design. I know about it inside and out and after this post (http://www.ummah.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2345995&postcount=38) I did I thought it would be a good idea to teach and share insha Allah.

So whether it be Forum avatars, signatures, basics of design, typography, layout, colours, wireframing, etc etc etc, we'll discuss it here as long as you want it, and the mods don't mind.

So let e know if it's cool and what you would like to learn.

You can make big bucks ;) I was a one man team, Design, Code, Publish. Did it all without taking a single class. You can learn it all online really =] Good choice. :up:

brother you can use Adobe Photoshop and some other graphics tools for it! :)

I will warn you, I take a very boring path when it comes to teaching. The results are always good though and I get the most out of students, but.... some want results like yesterday.

I want to know what people are after first of all, then I'll make simple videos of tutorials with notes so it's easy to follow. Also any questions can and will be answered :D

This works out well because I can use the work I do here to add to my blog later insha Allah.

Tool I use so these will be what you will (probably) need are...

Photoshop
Illustrator
Swift 3D
Notepad++
SwishMax

I have no idea about 3Ds Max or Maya I'm affraid. Always wanted to learn but never had the time.

The first tutorials will be about design principals and good habits etc rather than, LOOK AT THIS WHAT I DID!!! lol then after that, trends, typography etc.

To be honest I though of this at about 4am this morning so I need to figure it out :D

I'm not saying that anyone can design. It's more about those that want to follow on skills they have or other wanting to try out something new.

Like I said this won't always be about lens flare, a bit of bevel etc. It will be about colours, composition, typography as well as techniques to get a good result. I'm not trying to change the world :P

Sorry about the delay. I've been testing recording techniques rather than using screenshots, so I'll probably do some basic things first just to get the hang of it all insha Allah

That's what I'm using, it's pretty decent software too. Doing a few tests and all that. More concerned about sound more than anything else :P
