Thobes & Prayer Mats Required For Muslim Prisoners (London)
I am arranging a collection for a prison that I work closely with in London. The Imam of that prison has asked if we can collect prayer mats and thobes (long Middle Eastern style garments) for the brothers. If you have new thobes or ones that have hardly been worn but still look new then do let us know and we will try our best to either collect them from you or ask you to drop them off at a suitable location.
We are looking for medium, large, extra large and XXL sizes in plain colours, such as white, cream, black and grey. We require ones that are also plain in design, i.e. without shiny material or heavy embroidery, etc. Shalwar Kameez (South Asian style tunics and trousers) are not required at this point.
Many of us may have returned from the beautiful journey of Hajj or know someone who has. If you have received a prayer mat or thobe and are unlikely to use it, why not donate it to other brothers who need them? This not only helps the brothers in wearing something they love but it can also help them be more focussed in the deen, insha'Allah.
There are many shops and wholesalers where we can get prayer mats and thobes at wholesale prices, but the best collection is the one where a single penny is not wasted.
So if you can help, please contact Um Dawud on 07984 433 288 or e-mail nosheena_jj@ hotmail.com
