View Full Version : Do animals worship Allah (SWT) like humans do?
Assalaam Alikum
I was wondering, do animals worship Allah (SWT) like humans do? In the Qu'ran, I read that everything on earth bows to Allah (SWT). Therefore, do animals have their own form of worship and follow a set of guidelines (their Qu'ran) that we don't know about?

And indeed We bestowed grace on david from Us (saying): "O you mountains. Glorify (Allah) with him! And you birds (also)! And We made the iron soft for him."
( سورة سبأ , Saba, Chapter #34, Verse #10)
Verily, We made the mountains to glorify Our Praises with him (Dawood (david)) in the Ashi (i.e. after the mid-day till sunset) and Ishraq (i.e. after the sunrise till mid-day).
( سورة ص , Sad, Chapter #38, Verse #18)
And Sulaiman (Solomon) inherited (the knowledge of) dawood (David). He said: "O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and on us have been bestowed all things. This, verily, is an evident grace (from Allah)."
( سورة النمل , An-Naml, Chapter #27, Verse #16)
And (so did) the birds assembled: all with him (dawood (David)) did turn (to Allah i.e. glorified His Praises).
( سورة ص , Sad, Chapter #38, Verse #19)
Hope this helps...............

Wa Alaikum Salam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
In Surat Ath Thariyat, ayat 56-58, Allah says "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. I do not need from them to provide for Me, and I do not need from them to feed Me. Verily, Allah is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong."
In Suratul Baqarah, ayah 116, Allah says "They say: "Allah has begotten a son" :Glory be to Him.-No, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: everything renders worship to Him."
Two big differences between humans and animals in that humans have been granted free will and understanding, which are mercies and blessings from Allah. We can choose to obey or disobey Allah, whereas animals cannot. Everything that they do is a worship to Allah. So they do not need ruku and sujud because they worship Allah automatically when they walk, eat, sleep, etc without ever knowing any other way of living.
Beyond this amount of knowledge that we have, only Allah, our Creator and their Creator and the Creator of everything else, knows.

Ok, jazakallah.
For some reason, I was half-expecting to go into the forest and find the deer and the bears and other animals all performing salaat together. :D

:inlove: subhanAllah how amazingly beautiful would that be! Sounds like a wonderful idea! lol Maybe we can round them all up :rotfl: :outta:
Its amazing though isnt it- the thought that every single thing created is in a state of worship to Allah (swt). Its just us humans that seem to have a problem in submitting entirely.

Wa 'alaikum salaam
Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah knows well all that they do.
(24: 41)
The parts in green in the ayah which have been translated as "(mode of) prayer and praise" is in Arabic "Salaah" and "Tasbeeh".
