Asalamulaikum gentlemen What does Islam say about a child who has purposefully killed someone. He is aged between 10 and 12. Is he responsible? Can he be punished for his crimes, or do his parents share any burden for his crime, as he is supposedly not at the age of responsibility? END OF QUESTION Thanks alot!! And it looks like its going to be an interesting show. JAZAKaLLAH KHAIR.

Wassalaam,

Due to lack of time, this question was NOT answered publicly, but, if I can remember rightly, I replied to this person in private.

As far as I can remember, I did not ask you whether you have repl;ied to that person or not.

The question was asked publicly and I whished and still wish to know if the reply could be published here for public viewing.

Hope I have made my point clear.

Now you say that you have answered him in private. Do yo have any objection to pasting a copy of your reply here?

Salam,

With all due respect, our resident Mualana has kindly agreed to give up some of his precious time in helping the Ummah and if he says that he has answered the query his own way, I think you should leave it.

There's not many Mualana's around who help as much as ours does.

He does much work behind the scenes and expects no reward for it, out of the goodness of his heart. I dont wish to say anything he would not wish me to say, so just accept it....he says he has not time.....its a fact.

Respect please.

I think you should leave it.

My dear brother, please, Aboosait is in the habit of taking thins out of context and wants his way all the time. You can never say or do anything right, so, I take it as a pinch of salt. But, nonetheless, I thank you for your good words.

Wassalaam,

If someone can't respect what you do.....they don't deserve to be answered to.

Islamic etiquette should be the forefront on an islamic site.

Anyone not respecting respected members shouldnt ever post here again.

But I respect your balanced opinion, yet again a shining example.

Walahi you have more patience than me.

Wassalaam.

Volume 8, Book 73, Number 40:

Narrated An-Nu'man bin Bashir:

Allah's Apostle said, "You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it."

Volume 8, Book 73, Number 42:

Narrated Jarir bin 'Abdullah:

The Prophet said, "He who is not merciful to others, will not be treated mercifully.

Volume 8, Book 73, Number 52:

Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim:

The Prophet mentioned the (Hell) Fire and sought refuge (with Allah) from it, and turned his face to the other side. He mentioned the (Hell) Fire again and took refuge (with Allah) from it and turned his face to the other side. (Shu'ba, the sub-narrator, said, "I have no doubt that the Prophet repeated it twice.") The Prophet then said, "(O people!) Save yourselves from the (Hell) Fire even if with one half of a date fruit (given in charity), and if this is not available, then (save yourselves) by saying a good pleasant friendly word."

Volume 8, Book 73, Number 56:

Narrated Masruq:

Abdullah bin 'Amr mentioned Allah's Apostle saying that he was neither a Fahish nor a Mutafahish. Abdullah bin 'Amr added, Allah's Apostle said, 'The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.'

As the English proverb goes,

just as a tree is known by its fruit, so a man is known by his words

The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said that no one would be misguided after having received guidance, or stray off the path, except for those who engage in vain or senseless argumentation (At-Tirmidhi).

The Prophet Dallallahu Alaihi Wasallam also said that people who leave vain argumentation even when they are right will be rewarded in Paradise (Abu Dawud).
