The whole week is based on the beloved companions of our beloved messenger Rassululah SAW so all lectures are linked to the theme. This particular week has been chosen because it coincides with the start Muharram and thats when some shias start doing their funny stuff so its there to clear the confusion
Forgot to mention, throughout the week, starting on the Monday, there will be stalls dotted around the campus insha'Allah with material on the sahaba RH and their status in Islaam. Also there will be cakes sold insha'Allah, maybe..cos everyone likes cakes.
Aand, watch out for the QM sahaba week video trailer coming soon insha'Allah.

Of course sis!!! 313 *smacks head* that was the number of sahabah that fought at Badr right?
Masha Allah and its so clever the way they did the poster from the movie 300? Wasn't that also about a small army defeating a larger one? Clever...
The second one might be a talk about the sahabah in general me thinks...don't know for sure though...hmm?
Someone care to enlighten us please. Jazzakallahu Khairan.

lol the 313 title chosen has no connection with the events that occured in the motion picture title: "300".. EXCEPT the connection that there were a small group of warriors fighting a larger group and the number in the army was simliar 313 > 300. Anything else is just qadr.
We were gonna have Abu Bakr and the Philosopher's Stone...but we decided against it.

Masha'allah it was good- his emphasis on the Munafiqoun and what harm they cause us was especially a plus point as most tend to shy away from that despite it being the truth.
May Allah (swt) reward Akh Dr. Haytham Tayyeb and the QM Isoc- Ameen.

The talk was really interesting Mashallah. The speaker was excellent. Opened up my eyes to a lot of things! I wasn't aware of the severity of the rumours...I just thought Shia's didn't like Aisha. Didn't really know why.
I had a Shia trying to convert me at University two weeks ago. Due to my 'lack' of knowledge, I wasn't able to defend myself. Now I know what to say Inshallah

Esp bit on feeling like it was on a personal level and a personal issue
Na'am thats true- indeed if we truly love the Rasul (saw) and the Sahabah (ra) as we claim and give lip service to doing then we'd follow the Sunnah and would see an attack on them or their character to being interpretted as a personal attack, as well as us all being an Ummah.
"Say: "If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline and the dwellings in which you delight are dearer to you than Allaah and His Messenger, and striving hard, and fighting in His Cause, then wait until Allaah brings about His Decision - and Allaah guides not the rebellious" (Qur'aan 9:24)
On the authority of Anas , it is reported that Allaah's Messenger (saw) said:
"None of you truly believes until I am more beloved by him than his sons, his father and all of mankind."
(Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

Akhy its just the venue really- I know it was announced that it was the best you had access to but that place is just too cramped and some brothers had to sit on the stairs.
Also the talk had so much more but time ran out.
Aside from that though masha'allah everything was good- jezak'allah.

As-salaamu 'Alaikum
Just a suggestion if I may.
I would recommend broadcasting talks live over the net. It's easy to set up and you can do it for free using Paltalk. This way, you reach a much wider audience and it's especially useful for sisters who can listen at home. Another useful feature is listeners can submit questions via Paltalk.
May Allaah reward all those invloved in giving dawah, Ameen!

Definately have to agree with this- masha'allah an excellent suggestion, at times the brothers came through the sisters side doorway (I think more due to mistake than anything else) and even leaving there were both brothers and sisters near the entrance so separate halls/ rooms with projection/ sound would cut out all this.
Also that way we would not hear sisters talking, laughing, etc. and they will not hear the brothers side do likewise.
Though this would require of you all extra work, your reward is with Allah (swt) and may he make such a task easy- Ameen.

:salams
wow..subhanallah thats actually really bad, and im sure QM isoc apologises greatly for the lack of seating , however as the brother said in the lecture it was the best they cud get ...
with regards to segregation i agree, however usally the lecture hall is much bigger like masons for 313 lecture on monday and turn out is unpredictable , and having the sisters seated at the back does not seem to be an issue. however a segregated hall all together would be ideal but depending on turn outs may not be practicle to book to lecture halls where an AV and video link would be possible.

Thing is guys its very hard to book lecture theatres as it is so although the ISOC tries its best, theres only limited things that the ISOC can do.
Having said that, the Imam Nawawi course run by Ustadh Murtaza Khan is now such that brothers and sisters are in different rooms, but this is mostly not feasible for bigger talks where the turnout is generally much larger :)

Wa Alaikum wa Assalam,
Its fine brothers- jezak'allah for the feedback, we do not really know what efforts you're all going through to facilitate this ilm and how you try to segregate the events masha'allah.
We just suggested as attendees, of course its up to you all to do Shurah and see if these are valid thoughts and if anything we said is realistic and practical insha'allah.
May Allah (swt) reward you all- do not think we are not appreciative of what good you are doing as we are directly benefitting alhamdulillah as is the community. Do not be disheartened at all.
Jezak'allah, may Allah (swt) accept and reward your efforts- Ameen.

The rumours at the time of Rasululah SAW regarding Ayesha RH are not even what the shia slander against her [although similiar], thats what the munafiqoon slandered at the time, the ones amongst the Muslims who claimed to believe but who didnt. What the shia say regarding our mother Aishah RH is much worse..you don't even wanna know.
The whole slander and event that was mentioned in the Quran in Surah Noor got cleared up there and then with revelation during her lifetime and there was no doubt after it. The shias slander her NOW despite the revelation and on a unrelated matter.
Their hatred for Aishah RH is based on the whole mahoosive fitnah at the time of Ali [RH] and Muawiyya [RH]. And the fact that she is daughter of Abu Bakr [RH].
Just a word of warning if dealing with shias sis, be careful when debating with them and don't get into debate with them without knowledge because you will find them well versed and knowledgable about their religion but if you do enough research you can kill them off [not literally]. Also debate with them with the correct intention that we sincerely hope Allah SWT will guide them to the correct religion.
insha'Allah the talk on friday.."the real ahlul bait" will go into this in further detail and outline the beliefs of ahlus sunnah and of the shia bi'ithnillah.

Jazakallah Khair for that. I was speaking to my dad about the Aisha (radi Allahu anhu) rumours and he mentioned quite alot about what you said. I was suprised...if I knew this, I'd have ignored the person who wanted to have a debate with me on this subject.
And the speaker was absolutely right. Any attack on Aisha (radi Allahu anhu) is a personal attack on us - so it's extremely important that we have enough knowledge in order to defend ourselves and prove them wrong.

There were no sisters sitting outside?? There were lots sitting on the stairs, but none outside.
Also, personally i prefer to see a speaker live, rather than hearing it by audio link, as the speakers visual presence as well as expressions keeps me engaged, and like they say a large proportion of communication is non-verbal, so just hearing an audio link wouldnt be the same. plus i always tend to day dream when only listening to audios, theres nothing to keep me focussed, but i guess thats just me :)

Aishah [radiAllahu anha] : A Marriage from Heaven
The excellence of the Sahaba
Ibn Mas'ood said, "Indeed Allah looked into the hearts of the servants and found the heart of Muhammad (s.a.w.) to be the best of the hearts of His servants and so He chose him for Himself and sent him as a Messenger. Then He looked into the hearts of His servants after Muhammad (s.a.w.) and found the hearts of the Companions to be the best of the hearts of the servants. So He made them ministers of His Messenger (s.a.w.) fighting for His Deen. So whatever the Muslims hold to be good then it is good with Allah and whatever the Muslims hold to be evil it is evil with Allah."Allah swt says in Surah an3am: Allah knows best where to put his message. So he SWT chose the best person, at the best time, at the best place, its all the hikmah of Allah.
The excellence of the Sahaba is mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah like in Surah Fath and many ahadeeth. Also as Allah SWT says regarding those who gave the bay'ah to Mohammed SAW under the tree, Allah is pleased with them and he knew what was in their hearts. He knew they weren't fake and all nice on outside but they were the real deal.
Allah SWT also says in Surah Tawbah, verse 100: And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajiroon (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhajiroon) and also those who followed them exactly . Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.
The stance of Ahlus Sunnah wal jama3ah regarding the sahaba [may Allah be pleased with them all] is a matter of aqeedah [belief] and is a prt of emaan. We should hold the upmost respect for them and know that they were the greatest people on this Earth [after the prophets and messengers]

What is known and has been accepted is that the majority of the Shia (residing in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon) are kuffar due to major errors in beliefs so aren't our brothers despite their claim to being 'Muslim'- ask any reputable scholar from Ahlul Sunnah who knows of the deviations and the fundementals of Aq'aid and he will not hide the haqq, telling you staight what is plain and open, khalas.
What is also accepted is that the Zaidi which are a small minority branch of Shia (who reside primarily in the region of Yeman) are however Muslim within the fold of Ahlul Sunnah, I hope the likes of Yasir Qadhi do acknowledge this very basic of facts and that he is not too shy to admit it.

Aishah [may Allah be pleased with her] : A Marriage from Heaven
Allah SWT says in Surah Ahzaab, verse 6: The Prophet is closer to the believers than their ownselves, and his wives are their mothers.
Allah SWT is pleased with Aishah RH. She is the daughter of Abu Bakr, also known a Siddiqah bint Siddiq. The truthful, daughter of the truthful. She comes from one of the most noble tribes in Arabia, from a noble mother and father. She is the wife of Mohammed SAW, the wife of a prophet, the wife of a messenger, the wife of the greatest man ever to walk on the fact of this earth.
After the death of his wife, Khadijah [RA], a woman came to the Prophet SAW and asked him why he doesnt marry again so he SAW asked, who should I marry? Of the few the women had in mind, Aishah RH was one of them. So basically long story short, the Prophet SAW went to Abu Bakr RH to ask for the hand of Aishah RA and as reluctant as he was, Abu Bakr declined BUT ONLY because he had given his word to another man that he would marry his daughter to him. Abu Bakr RH being the amazing man he was, he didnt want to break his promise but he still wanted to accept the Prophet SAW's proposal so what happened was he went to the family he had promised and eventually they decided to call the marriage off due to the fact they didnt like the fact Abu Bakr and family had become a Muslim.
So now, Abu Bakr much to his delight could accept the proposal of the messenger of Allah SAW. The Prophet SAW had seen Aishah RA in a dream three times and Jibreel AS said to him: This is Aishah, she is your wife in this dunya and your wife in the akhirah. So THAT is why the marriage of Aishah to the Prophet SAW is a marriage from heaven, subhan'Allah [now you can see where the title came from hehe]
Aishah RA knew the Prophet SAW inside out, she knew him better than most and due to her young nature, she was very inquisitive so she would shower the Prophet SAW with questions and this was a trait that the Prophet SAW would like in her.
Abu Musa [one of the most knowledgable of the Sahaba] he would say: We never approached Aishah RA with a question except we would find the answer to something we need. Bin Zubair RH would also say: I have seen senior companions go to Aishah when they had a dispute. Abu Huraiah RH would lean against the door of the masjid and he would say something so when the people would ask him if hes sure, he would get confirmation from Aishah. She narrated over 200 ahadeeth and some ulema say that she narrated over half the deen [not literally]
Its important that people trust Aishah as she is part of the process of establishing the deen. When Amr embraced Islaam, Rasululah SAW made him commander and he would smile at him and him being the innocent guy he was, didnt know rasululah SAW would smile at everyone. So anwyays, he thought he was loved by Prophet SAW so he asked him in fornt of everyone: Oh messenger of Allah, who is most loved to you? Rasululah SAW replied: Aishah. So he asked, what about among the men..and he SAW replied: Abu Bakr
The wives of Prophet SAW would get jelous [naturally] and they all knew that the Prophet SAW loved Aishah the most and basically there was a mini debate about gifts and how people would give it to rasulukah SAW when he was with Aishah and they had this complaint until rasululah SAW told Umm Salamah RA: do not bother me about Aishah.
Aishah RA even saw Jibreel AS but in the fom of a Sahabi. The Prophet SAW once said, Jibreel gives you salam.
Al Ifk: And then the WHOLE mahoosive story of the slander against Aishah AS which can be found in the tafseer of Surah Noor.
And then finally, it is reported in Ahmed that the Prophet SAW said: Ya Aishah, one thing that makes my death easy is...you will be my wife in Jannah....dot dot dot.

The Slander of Aishah RA - Its proper long but its well worth it, the full story with tafsir. I resized txt otherwise would kill topic, if you want copy and paste to word and then resize. Its through the eyes of Aishah RA and her viewpoint and her story.
The next ten Ayat were all revealed concerning `A'ishah, the mother of the believers, may Allah be pleased with her, when the people of slander and falsehood among the hypocrites made their accusations against her and spread lies about her. Allah became jealous on her behalf and on behalf of His Prophet , and revealed her innocence to protect the honor of the Messenger of Allah . He said:
(Verily, those who brought forth the slander are a group among you.) meaning they were not one or two, but a group. Foremost among this group was `Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul, the leader of the hypocrites, who fabricated the lie and whispered it to others, until some of the Muslims started to believe it, and others thought it might be possible and began to talk about it. This is how matters remained for almost a month, until Qur'an was revealed. This is reported in Sahih Hadiths. Imam Ahmad recorded that Az-Zuhri said: Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib, `Urwah bin Az-Zubayr, `Alqamah bin Waqqas and `Ubaydullah bin `Abdullah bin `Utbah bin Mas`ud told me about the story of `A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet , when the people of the slander said what they said about her, and Allah declared her innocence. Each of them told something about the story, and some of them knew more details than others or had memorized more than others. I learned the story from each of them, who had heard it from `A'ishah herself, and what one told me confirmed what the others said. They mentioned that `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, the wife of the Prophet , said: "When the Messenger of Allah wanted to go on a journey, he would cast lots among his wives, and the one whose lot was drawn would go with him.'' `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "So he drew lots among us with regard to a campaign he was going out on, and mine was drawn, so I went out with the Messenger of Allah . This was after the commandment of Hijab had been revealed, so I traveled in my howdah and stayed in it when we camped. We traveled until the Messenger of Allah completed his campaign, then we returned. As we were approaching Al-Madinah, we paused for a while, then they announced that the journey was to be resumed. When I heard this, I walked quickly away from the army to answer the call of nature, then I came back to my howdah. Then I put my hand to my chest and noticed that a necklace of mine that was made of onyx and cornelian had broken, so I went back and looked for it, and was delayed because of that. In the meantime, the people who used to lift my howdah onto my camel came along and put it on the camel, thinking that I was inside. In those times women were more slender and not so heavy, they only ate mouthfuls of food. So the people did not think anything of the howdah being so light when they lifted it up, as I was a young woman. They set off, and I found my necklace after the army had moved on. Then I came back to the place where we had stopped, and I saw no one to call or answer. So I went to the place where I had been, thinking that the people would miss me and come back for me. While I was sitting there, I fell asleep. tSafwan bin Al-Mu`attal As-Sulami Adh-Dhakwani had rested during the night behind the army. Then he set out just before daybreak and reached the place where I was in the morning, where he saw the outline of a person sleeping. He came to me and recognized me when he saw me, as he had seen me before Hijab was made obligatory for me. When he saw me and said `Truly, to Allah we belong, and truly, to Him we shall return,' I woke up, and covered my face with my Jilbab (outer garment). By Allah, he did not speak a word to me and I did not hear him say anything except `Truly, to Allah we belong, and truly, to Him we shall return,' until he brought his camel and made it kneel so that I could ride upon it, then he set out leading the camel until we caught up with the army at Zuhr time.
There are people who are doomed because of what happened to me, and the one who had the greater share therein was `Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul. When we came back to Al-Madinah, I was ill for a month, and the people were talking about what the people of the slander were saying, and I knew nothing about it. What upset me when I was ill was that I did not see the kindness I used to see on the part of the Messenger of Allah . When I was ill; he would just come in and say,
«كَيْفَ تِيكُمْ؟»
(How is that (lady)) That is what upset me. I did not feel that there was anything wrong until I went out after I felt better, and Umm Mistah went out with me, walking towards Al-Manasi`, which is where we used to go to relieve ourselves, and we would not go out for that purpose except at night. This was before we had lavatories close to our houses; our habit was similar to that of the early Arabs in that we went out into the deserts to relieve ourselves, because we considered it troublesome and harmful to have lavatories in our houses. So I went out with Umm Mistah, who was the daughter of Abu Ruhm bin Al-Muttalib bin `Abd Manaf, and her mother was the daughter of Sakhr bin `Amir, the paternal aunt of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq. Her son was Mistah bin Uthathah bin `Abbad bin Al-Muttalib. When we finished what we had to do, the daughter of Abu Ruhm Umm Mistah and I came back towards my house. Umm Mistah stumbled over her apron and said, `May Mistah be ruined!' I said to her, `What a bad thing you have said! Are you abusing a man who was present at Badr' She said, `Good grief, have you not heard what he said' I said, `What did he say' So she told me what the people of the slander were saying, which made me even more ill. When I returned home, the Messenger of Allah came in to me and greeted me, then he said,
«كَيْفَ تِيكُمْ؟»
(How is that (lady)) I said to him, `Will you give me permission to go to my parents' At that time I wanted to confirm the news by hearing it from them. The Messenger of Allah gave me permission, so I went to my parents and asked my mother, `O my mother, what are the people talking about' My mother said, `Calm down, for by Allah, there is no beautiful woman who is loved by her husband and has co-wives but those co-wives would find fault with her.' I said, `Subhan Allah! Are the people really talking about that' I wept throughout the whole night until morning. My tears never ceased and I did not sleep at all, and morning came while I was still weeping. Because the revelation had ceased, the Messenger of Allah called `Ali bin Abi Talib and Usamah bin Zayd, and consulted with them about divorcing his wife. As for Usamah bin Zayd, he told the Messenger of Allah about what he knew of his wife's innocence and his fondness for her. He said, `O Messenger of Allah, she is your wife, and we do not know anything about her but good.' But `Ali bin Abi Talib said, `O Messenger of Allah, Allah has not imposed restrictions on you, and there are plenty of other women besides her. If you ask her servant girl, she will tell you the truth.' So the Messenger of Allah called Barirah and said,
«أَيْ بَرِيرَةُ هَلْ رَأَيْتِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ يَرِيبُكِ مِنْ عَائِشَةَ؟»
(O Barirah, have you ever seen anything that might make you suspicious about `A'ishah) Barirah said to him, `By the One Who sent you with the truth, I have never seen anything for which I could blame her, apart from the fact that she is a young girl who sometimes falls asleep and leaves her family's dough unprotected so that the domestic goats come and eat it.' So then the Messenger of Allah got up and (addressed the people) and asked who could sort out `Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul for him. While he was standing on the Minbar, the Messenger of Allah said,
(O Muslims, who will help me against a man who has hurt me by slandering my family By Allah, I know nothing about my family but good, and the people are blaming a man of whom I know nothing except good, and he has never entered upon my family except with me.) Sa`d bin Mu`adh Al-Ansari stood up and said, `O Messenger of Allah, by Allah I will deal with him for you. If he is from (the tribe of) Al-Aws, then I will cut off his head, and if he is from our brothers of (the tribe of) Al-Khazraj, tell us what to do and we will do it.' Then Sa`d bin `Ubadah stood up. He was the leader of Al-Khazraj, and he was a righteous man, but he was overwhelmed with tribal chauvinism. He said to Sa`d bin Mu`adh, `By Allah, you will not kill him and you will never be able to kill him.' Then Usayd bin Hudayr, who was the cousin of Sa`d bin Mu`adh, stood up and said to Sa`d bin `Ubadah, `You are lying! By Allah, we will kill him, and you are a hypocrite arguing on behalf of the hypocrites!' Then the two groups, Al-Aws and Al-Khazraj, started to get angry and were about to come to blows, with the Messenger of Allah standing there on the Minbar, trying to calm them down until they became quiet, then the Messenger of Allah also fell silent. On that day I kept on weeping so much, my tears never ceased and I did not sleep at all. My parents thought that my liver would burst from all that weeping. While they were sitting with me and I was weeping, a woman of the Ansar asked for permission to see me. I let her in, and she sat and wept with me. While we were in that state, the Messenger of Allah came in, greeted us and sat down. He had never sat with me since the rumors began, and a month had passed by without any revelation coming to him concerning my case. The Messenger of Allah recited the Tashahhud when he sat down, then he said,
(Thereafter, O `A'ishah, I have been told such and such a thing about you, and if you are innocent, then Allah will reveal your innocence, but if you have committed a sin, then seek Allah's forgiveness and turn in repentance to Him, for when a servant confesses his sin and repents to Allah, He accepts his repentance.) When the Messenger of Allah finished what he had to say, my tears stopped completely and I not longer felt even one drop. Then I said to my father, `Answer the Messenger of Allah on my behalf.' He said, `I do not know what I should say to the Messenger of Allah.' So I said to my mother, `Answer the Messenger of Allah on my behalf.' She said, `I do not know what I should say to the Messenger of Allah.' So even though I was just a young girl who had not memorized much of the Qur'an, I said: `By Allah, I know that you have heard so much of this story that it has become planted in your minds and you believe it. So now if I tell you that I am innocent -- and Allah knows that I am innocent -- you will not believe me; but if I admit something to you -- and Allah knows that I am innocent -- you will believe me. By Allah, I cannot find any example to give you except for that which the Prophet Yusuf's father said,
(So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allah Whose help can be sought against that (lie) which you describe) ﴿12:18﴾. Then I turned my face away and lay down on my bed. By Allah, at that point I knew I was innocent and that Allah would prove my innocence because I was innocent, but by Allah, I did not think that Allah would reveal Qur'an that would be forever recited concerning my situation, because I thought of myself as too insignificant for Allah to reveal anything concerning me. But I hoped that the Messenger of Allah would see a dream in which Allah would prove my innocence. By Allah, the Messenger of Allah did not move from where he was sitting and no one left the house before Allah sent down revelation to His Prophet , and he was overtaken by the state that always overtook him when the revelation came upon him, until drops of sweat like pearls would run down him, even on a winter's day; this was because of the heaviness of the words which were being revealed to him. When that state passed -- and the Messenger of Allah was smiling -- the first thing he said was,
«أَبْشِرِي يَا عَائِشَةُ، أَمَّا اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَقَدْ بَرَّأَكِ»
(Be glad O `A'ishah, Allah has declared your innocence.) My mother said to me, `Get up and go to him.' I said, `By Allah, I will not go to him and I will not give praise to anyone except Allah, may He be glorified, for He is the One Who has proven my innocence.' So Allah revealed:
(Verily, those who brought forth the slander are a group among you.), until the ten Ayat. Allah revealed these Ayat concerning my innocence. Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, who used to spend on Mistah bin Uthathah because he was a close relative and because he was poor, said, `By Allah, I will never spend anything on him again after what he has said about `A'ishah. ' Then Allah revealed,
(And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give to their kinsmen.) until His saying:
﴿أَلاَ تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ﴾
(Do you not love that Allah should forgive you And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful) ﴿24:22﴾. So Abu Bakr said, `By Allah, certainly I love that Allah should forgive me.' So he resumed spending on Mistah as he had spent on him before, and he said, `By Allah, I shall never stop spending on him.' The Messenger of Allah asked Zaynab bint Jahsh about my situation, and said,
«يَا زَيْنَبُ مَاذَا عَلِمْتِ أَوْ رَأَيْتِ؟»
(O Zaynab, what do you know and what have you seen) She said, `O Messenger of Allah, may Allah protect my hearing and my sight. By Allah, I know nothing but good.' She is the one who used to compete with me among the wives of the Prophet , but Allah protected her (from telling lies) because of her piety. But her sister Hamnah bint Jahsh kept on fighting on her behalf, so she was doomed along with those who were doomed.'' Ibn Shihab said, "This is as much as we know about this group of people.'' It was also by Al-Bukhari and Muslim in their Sahihs from the Hadith of Az-Zuhri, and by Ibn Ishaq also from Az-Zuhri. He also said: "Yahya bin `Abbad bin `Abdullah bin Az-Zubayr told me from his father, from `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, and `Abdullah bin Abi Bakr bin Muhammad bin `Amr bin Hazm Al-Ansari told me from `Amrah, from `A'ishah, (a report) similar to that quoted above. And Allah knows best. Allah's saying:
(Verily, those who brought forth the slander) means, the lies, falsehood and fabrications.
(are a group) means, a gang among you.
(Consider it not a bad thing for you.) O family of Abu Bakr,
(Nay, it is good for you.) means, in this world and the Hereafter, honorable mention in this world and raised status in the Hereafter. Allah demonstrated the esteem with which He regarded the family of Abu Bakr when He defended `A'ishah the Mother of the believers, may Allah be pleased with her, by revealing her innocence in the Qur'an,
(Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it. ..) ﴿41:42﴾. Ibn `Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, entered upon her when she was dying, he said to her, "Rejoice, for you are the wife of the Messenger of Allah and he used to love you; he did not marry any virgin other than you, and your innocence was revealed from heaven.''
(Unto every man among them will be paid that which he had earned of the sin,) means, each of those who spoke about this matter and accused the Mother of the believers `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, of any immoral action, will have a great share of punishment.
(and as for him among them who had the greater share therein,) It was said that this referred to the one who initiated the rumors, or that it was the one who collected rumors and spread them among the people.
(his will be a great torment.) means, for that. He was `Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul, may Allah disfigure him and curse him.
(12. Why then, did not the believers, men and women, when you heard it, think good of their own people and say: "This is an obvious lie'') (13. Why did they not produce four witnesses against him Since they have not produced witnesses! Then with Allah, they are the liars.)

but what i am aware of is Shiaism and islam are 2 different things..there are def not brethren.
yep-we should leave these kind of things to the ulema, and try avoid the bickering (needs 2 b done by knwledgeable ppl with wisdom)..and if we say something we wil be responsible for it....and i did hesitate b4 posting the above post...may Allah forgive me if Ive said anything incorrect.
just shows that we have to have knowledge before we try give dawah to these ppl...like abu muslim said earlier...and like be really kind and well-mannered and check, recheck and keep checking your intention when speakng to them..
you can give dawah indirectly like tell em about the Prophet's Prayer Described Bk and how great it is..maybe

Jzk...agreed that majority of shia are kuffaar and not our brothers-definitely...majority of shias arent our brethren..point taken.
I dnt have enough knwledge, so im not at liberty to discuss these kinda things(re: sects)-best left for the ulema inshaAllah, although we should have some knwledge of what their beliefs are etc
With regards Sh Yasir, I dnt need to defend him but he knows his stuff mashaAllah, he has a Masters in Islamic Theology-enough said. and having consulted with him on some matters, he has given some gd advice mA...
lets end this lil discourse here inshaAllah..
ALLAH KNOWS BEST..
May Allah forgive us if weve said anything incorrect..
May Allah guide us upon the straight path, ameen.

And then finally, it is reported in Ahmed that the Prophet SAW said: Ya Aishah, one thing that makes my death easy is...you will be my wife in Jannah....dot dot dot.
may Allah reward you for posting all that..
that final hadith topped it off soo nicely mashaAllah!

313 - The Battle of Badr
First bit is missing for a certain reason [would be greatful if someone could fill in] but from my limited knowledge, how it started was they origincally intented to take the caravan of Abu Sufyan and jack their money and goods but he escaped and Allah knows best.
So I got from where.......they meet at Badr and Abu Suffyan had escaped but Abu Jahal was encouraging them to stay and fight. All of the tribes of Quraysh went and fought [lol I typed thought at first] except Bani Zahra.
So the Prophet SAW comes and brings the muhajiroon and the ansar and consults with them what to do, do we fight or do we jam. So Abu Bakr spoke and then Umar spoke but the hero of the day was Miqdad [sp?] due to this statement: Oh messenger of Allah, you do what your Lord has commanded as we are with you and we will not say like what bani isreal said before you.
Sa'ad ibn Muadh replied on behalf of the ansar and said we believe in you and we are with you. Upon hearing this, the face of Rasululah SAW illuminated.
It was the 17th of Ramadaan, 2 years after the hijrah of Rasululah SAW.
As the two armies approached, there was roughly 1000 mushriks and roughly 313ish Muslims. The messenger of Allah supplicated to Allah : Oh Allah, send to me what you have promised. If this small group of Muslims are destroyed, then there will be no one left on the face of the Earth to worship you." So Allah promised one of the two: either the caravan or the battle.
Like old skool days, there at first fight individuals [like in the message film, everyone seen it]. Ali, Hamza and Ubayd ibn Haarith [with the help of hamza] were victorious
The war began and the Prophet SAW said: no one shall fight today except he was patient except Allah will enter him into jannah. And theres the sstory of the sahaba with the dates how he didnt finish them and ran into battle, wanting jannah so much. The Prophet SAW threw dust and said: may ocnfusion enter your ranks.
Allah SWT says in Surah Anfal, verse 17: You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.
There were 3 winds that day. The first wind was jibreel AS with 1000 angels, the second was mikaeel AS with 1000 angles and the 3rd was Israfeel with 1000. One sahabi saw 2 men on the right and left of Mohammed SAW wearing white fighting feriousisly [however you spell it] and they were angels
Allah SWT says in Surah Imran: And Allah has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force. So fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden and love Allah much, perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained) that you may be grateful.

300 and however many.
Side point of this battle if the tawakal Prophet SAW had in Allah SWT. We should trust Allah and not the people. The battle of badr is likened to the battle with Dawud AS.
Abu Jahl saw the people fleeing at the arrival of angels and he was trying his best to call them all back. The one qualitity that seperated those at badr were they were fighting for the sake of Allah, not for fame, nationlism or anything else.
Two young companions wanted a sahabi to show them where ABu Jahal was so they could kill him off, ave it. Victory at Badr was guaranteeed by Allah SWT.
This wasnt mentioned in the talk but I thought it was very appropiate..Allah SWT says in Surah Imran, verse 13: There has already been a sign for you (O Jews) in the two armies that met (in combat i.e. the battle of Badr): One was fighting in the Cause of Allah, and as for the other (they) were disbelievers. They (the believers) saw them (the disbelievers) with their own eyes twice their number (although they were thrice their number). And Allah supports with His victory whom He pleases. Verily, in this is a lesson for those who understand. (See Verse 8:44). (Tafsir At-Tabaree)
The quraish later on after the fight, they caught Khubaib RH and Zubair RH as retaltion because they killed some of their guys. And it was narrated that Khuabaib was eating from grapes even though there were no grapes in madenah at the time. Before he was to be executed he asked them can I pray 2 rakahs..and he did so quickly. When he returned, he said: I prayed quickly because I feared you would think I was scared of death and trying to prelong it..when that isnt the case.
Ziad ibn Dasala [?] was caught by Abu Sufyan and he said: would you not wish that Mohammed was in your place? And then Ziad replied: I do not wish for even a single thorn to touch the mesenger of Allah while I sit at home in peace with my family.
Finally, Jibreel AS came to the Messenger of Allah SAW and said: what is your opinion of the people of badr? The Propher SAW replied: the y are the best of Muslims and then Jibreel AS said: likewise, those at the battle of Badr are the best from amongst the angels..
All good is from Allah SWT and any mistakes from shaytan and myself.*smiles*
