In every case I have seen in my life of the so-called possession by Jinn, turned out to be a case of psychological disorder.

inability to listen to quran or athan. are signs of possesion, make lots of duas and pray all your salah, those whom Allah protects nothing can harm.

my grandfather is an Islamic spiritual healer, and so is one of my uncles...the symptoms are similar to schizophrenia (some more severe where the possessed person starts eating broken glass, nails and doing lots of weird things any average human being isn't able to do)...in many cases mental illness can't be cured by modern medicine alone...it's good to incorporate both spiritual healing (Islamic) and modern medicine.
