[UQP] Surah Qamar - The Moon

In the name of Allah, the All Aware, the Preserver

Surah Qamar, surah number 54. containing the oft repeating verse in my sig.

Before we begin, we should seek refuge in Allah from shaitaan the outcast and purify our intentions to be solely for Allah SWT.

We going to go back to 3 ayahs a day insha'Allah No other posts in here, just the ayaats. The ayaats will be posted, 3 ayaats in arabic, the english tranlisterated below and then once again, the english translated below that and, and the 3 ayahs broken up from Salah Bukhatir for memorisation and tajweed [put this on your MP3 player and listen over and over]

Also, arabic word from each ayah will be highlighted in ahmar and the corresponding word in english highlighted in red aswell. This is for 2 reasons; to try to teach even a little bit of arabic and also, if you know the meaning of the keywords in the ayah, its easier to memorise the ayah.

اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ

Aqtarabati As-Sā`atu Wa Anshaqqa Al-Qamar

The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).


وَإِن يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ
Wa 'In Yaraw 'Āyatan Yu`riđū Wa Yaqūlū Siĥrun Mustamirrun

And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic."

وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ

Wa Kadhdhabū Wa Attaba`ū 'Ahwā'ahum Wa Kullu 'Amrin Mustaqirrun

They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled (according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)).

وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مِّنَ الْأَنبَاءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
Wa Laqad Jā'ahum Mina Al-'Anbā'i Mā Fīhi Muzdajarun
And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil),


حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ

Ĥikmatun Bālighatun Famā Tughni An-Nudhuru

Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not,

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ

Fatawalla `Anhum Yawma Yad`u Ad-Dā`i 'Ilá Shay'in Nukurin
So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing

خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنتَشِرٌ

Khushsha`āan 'Abşāruhum Yakhrujūna Mina Al-'Ajdāthi Ka'annahum Jarādun Muntashirun

They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad,


مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ

Muhţi`īna 'Ilá Ad-Dā`i Yaqūlu Al-Kāfirūna Hādhā Yawmun `Asirun

Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day."


كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ

Kadhdhabat Qablahum Qawmu Nūĥin Fakadhdhabū `Abdanā Wa Qālū Majnūnun Wa Azdujira

The people of Nooh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened.

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانتَصِرْ

Fada`ā Rabbahu 'Annī Maghlūbun Fāntaşir

Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!"

فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَاءٍ مُّنْهَمِرٍ

Fafataĥnā 'Abwāba As-Samā'i Bimā'in Munhamirin

So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth.

وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاءُ عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ

Wa Fajjarnā Al-'Arđa `Uyūnāan Fāltaqá Al-Mā'u `Alá 'Amrin Qad Qudira

And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined.

وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَى ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ

Wa Ĥamalnāhu `Alá Dhāti 'Alwāĥin Wa Dusurin

And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails,


تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاءً لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِر

Tajrī Bi'a`yuninā Jazā'an Liman Kāna Kufira
Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected!

وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
Wa Laqad Taraknāhā 'Āyatan Fahal Min Muddakirin
And indeed, We have left this as a sign, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ

Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri

Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?


وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin
And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember?


كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Kadhdhabat `Ādun Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri
Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hood), then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?



Surah Qamar, verse 16, 17 and 18:

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ

Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Rīĥāan Şarşarāan Fī Yawmi Naĥsin Mustamirrin

Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity.


تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ

Tanzi`u An-Nāsa Ka'annahum 'A`jāzu Nakhlin Munqa`irin
Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms.

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
ِ
Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri

Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?



Surah Qamar, verse 19, 20 and 21:

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin
And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ

Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Bin-Nudhuri
Thamood (people also) belied the warnings.


فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
ِ
Faqālū 'Abasharāan Minnā Wāĥidāan Nattabi`uhu 'Innā 'Idhāan Lafī Đalālin Wa Su`urin
For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!"



Surah Qamar, verse 22, 23 and 24:

أَؤُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ

'A'uulqiya Adh-Dhikru `Alayhi Min Bayninā Bal Huwa Kadhdhābun 'Ashirun
"Is it that the Reminder is sent to him (Prophet Salih (Saleh) ) alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!"

سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ

Saya`lamūna Ghadāan Mani Al-Kadhdhābu Al-'Ashiru
Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one!


إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ ِ
'Innā Mursilū An-Nāqati Fitnatan Lahum Fārtaqibhum Wa Aşţabir
Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them (O Salih (Saleh) ), and be patient!


Surah Qamar, verse 25, 26 and 27:

وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ
Wa Nabbi'hum 'Anna Al-Mā'a Qismatun Baynahum Kullu Shirbin Muĥtađarun
And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each ones right to drink being established (by turns).


فَنَادَوْاصَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَى فَعَقَرَ

Fanādaw Şāĥibahum Fata`āţá Fa`aqara
But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her).

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ِ

Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri
Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?


Surah Qamar, verse 28, 29 and 30:

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ

'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fakānū Kahashīmi Al-Muĥtažiri
Verily, We sent against them a single Saeehah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder.


لَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin
And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ ِ

Kadhdhabat Qawmu Lūţin Bin-Nudhuri
The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings.


Surah Qamar, verse 31, 32 and 33:

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ


'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Ĥāşibāan 'Illā 'Āla Lūţin Najjaynāhum Bisaĥarin
Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night,


نِعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ

Ni`matan Min `Indinā Kadhālika Najzī Man Shakara
As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us).


وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ ِ

Wa Laqad 'Andharahum Baţshatanā Fatamāraw Bin-Nudhuri
And he ((Lot)) indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings!


Surah Qamar, verse 34, 35 and 36:

وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ

Wa Laqad Rāwadūhu `An Đayfihi Faţamasnā 'A`yunahum Fadhūqū `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri
And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."


وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ

Wa Laqad Şabbaĥahum Bukratan `Adhābun Mustaqirrun
And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning.

فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ِ

Fadhūqū `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri
"Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."


Surah Qamar, verse 37, 38 and 39:

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
Hence, indeed, We made this Qur’an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart?


وَلَقَدْ جَاء آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ
Walaqad jaa ala firAAawna alnnuthuru
Now surely, unto Pharaoh’s folk [too] came such warnings;


كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ ِ

Kaththaboo biayatina kulliha faakhathnahum akhtha AAazeezin muqtadirin
they, too, gave the lie to all Our messages: and thereupon We took them to task as only the Almighty, who determines all things, can take to task.


Surah Qamar, verse 40, 41 and 42:

أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أُوْلَئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَاءةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ

Akuffarukum khayrun min olaikum am lakum baraatun fee alzzuburi
ARE, THEN, those of you who [now] deny the truth better than those others - or have you, per*chance, immunity in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom?


أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ

Am yaqooloona nahnu jameeAAun muntasir[B]un
Or do they say, “We are a group united, [and therefore] bound to prevail”?


سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ

Sayuhzamu aljamAAu wayuwalloona alddubura
[Yet] the hosts [of those who deny the truth] shall be routed, and they shall turn their backs [in flight]!

Surah Qamar, verse 43, 44 and 45:

بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ (

Bali alssaAAatu mawAAiduhum waalssaAAatu adha waamarru
But nay - the Last Hour is the time when they shall truly meet their fate; and that Last Hour will be most calamitous, and most bitter:


إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ

Inna almujrimeena fee dalalin wasuAAurin
for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly!


يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ

Yawma yushaboona fee alnnari AAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqara
On the Day when they shall be dragged into the fire on their faces, [they will be told:] “Taste now the touch of hell-fire!”

Surah Qamar, verse 46, 47 and 48:

إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ

Inna kulla shayin khalaqnahu biqadarin
BEHOLD, everything have We created in due measure and proportion;


وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ

Wama amruna illa wahidatun kalamhin bialbasari
and Our ordaining [a thing and its coming into being] is but one [act], like the twinkling of an eye


وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

Walaqad ahlakna ashyaAAakum fahal min muddakirin
Thus, indeed, did We destroy people like you [in the past]: who, then, is willing to take it to heart?

Surah Qamar, verse 49, 50 and 51:

وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ


Wakullu shayin faAAaloohu fee alzzuburi
[They were truly guilty] because all [the evil] that they ever did had been [revealed to them as such] in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom;


وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُسْتَطَرٌ

Wakullu sagheerin wakabeerin mustatarun
and everything [that man does], be it small or great, is recorded [with God].


إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ

Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaharin
[Hence, too,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves in [a paradise of] gardens and running waters,

Surah Qamar, verse 52, 53 and 54:

فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ


Fee maqAAadi sidqin AAinda maleekin muqtadirin
in a seat of truth, in the presence of a Sovereign who determines all things.

Surah Qamar, verse 55:
