salaam muslims
I work in a office and my break times are not the same time as salaat, at the moment. I was wondering if i can pray in ma head at work, instead of doing kazaa when i get home..

Assalamualaikum.
Once it is time for salah, you have to pray. If you have missed the time, you have to pray as soon as you can.
We have to pray in the manner prescribed by our beloved Prophet (saw). The only time I know that you pray in a more simplified manner is during illness and battle when you pray to the extent that you are able.
The only time you would 'pray in your mind' instead of the usual way would be if you were not able to move physically at all due to sickness or if you were fighting in battle. If neither is the case you should be grateful to Allah for this.
May Allah protect this ummah from seeking to alter the perfect laws of Islam!

I worked in many offices over the years and it didnt matter that salah time was not around my break time? By law you should not be sitting at a PC for extended periods anyway, so you can just tell your boss you are taking a few minutes for a break and go to pray? Colleague who smoke will be having this type of 'break' several times a day, or coffe breaks or whatever so it shouldn't be a problem. Just try to keep yourself in wudhu all the time so you don't have to do it at salah time.

No I think you missed my point.

It only takes a few minutes to pray your fardh salah and I am sure you are able to leave your desk for a few minutes to pray? Like I said, other people will be doing it several times a day for smoking/ coffee breaks so it should not be an issue for you to leave to pray...and by my calculations you will only be praying at work about 3 times a day max...soon to be 2 times with the days getting longer?

Assalamu Alaykum,

Islam is the base of our lives. Everything else must have to work around it. Why does Islam have to revolve around work and not work and other duties around religon?

Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam sahib mentioned, that when we go to have job interviews, it should be like: Will I be able to pray my Salah etc.? And not, get the job, then go to find if you can pray Salah and end up being told you can't etc.

You must pray your Salah, otherwise the money you earn during that Salah time will be haram. No, these are not my own words but the words of the 'Ulama. I will try and find you the fatwa online insha'Allah.

yeah thats true. dont they say u should take a little break every 30 minutes im sure

sitting staring at my pc i almost fall asleep sometimes at work and i just walk around for a bit. but time for salat i get up and tell them im going to pray. so far alhamduliLLAH its gone well. but if they cant get cover for me i will just have to leave and inshaAllah i hope it doesnt come to that...but absolutely we fit our live around salah not vice versa. Abdur Raheem Green said that we should be obsessed with our salah :inlove: and for real we should.

may Allah ta'aala make it easy for you and all of us. Ameen! and may He ta'aala make us of those who ALWAYS put Him and His messenger :saws2: first. Ameen!

wasalamu alaikum

Theres no excuse for missing salah unless u are ill or u sleep during the salah time or u on a journey, Also u only have to pray the Fards Rakkat but if u can pray the Sunnat as well it better, plz correct me if am wrong.....

I think one of the problems facing the Muslims of today is this misplaced notion that a missed salah can just be 'made up'.

This problem highlights one of the reasons why i really don't want to live in a non-muslim country when i'm older.

Anyway, I think people have given you all the advice you need already, like people said others will be taking breaks for a smoke etc. so i don't think anyone will notice if you pop out for a few mins. Just make sure you do your fardh, that's is whats most important, obviously sunnah is preferable, but if your worried about time just get your fardh done. It will take two minutes literally. And like someone said try and keep wudu at all times.
