Cleaning an Infected FlashDrive

Hope we are all fine and in the best of health.

Please what is the best way of cleaning an infected flash drive? Does formatting it solves the problem, or there are other alternatives to that? Some are of the view that throwing it away is the only solution.

By the way, how can i take off my files from an infected flash drive without harming my system?

run an anti virus scan on your flashdisk first, and if it says there's no vviruses then you can copy the files to your computer.

Yeah Ukhti, I have McAffe and I ran it, detected the virus, and have been removed. Thanks
