I think I have a weak memory...sometimes find it difficult to remember things.
(i'm not a student, i work full time, i train, have my own family, 'regular' person).
i try very hard, but its sometimes very depressing. I try to recite surah's but its such a difficult task at times. subhanAllah.
Im studying at the moment, and have books with 1000's pages of stuff to take in...its a nightmare.
I expect that this is a test, and I keep trying, pushing my self, alhumdulliah, but my weak mind sometimes feels like giving up.
make dua for me please and recommend things that I can do to help me, i.e. surahs? other tips? jazakAllahkahir.

This difficulty comes up surprisingly often in this forum. (I guess because so many Muslims diligently try to memorize Qu'ran.)
If you work full-time and have a family, a likely reason for your poor memory is that you're not getting enough sleep.
Please do a Google search for "memory + study + sleep" and you'll see that scientific studies have clearly demonstrated that the brain needs sufficient sleep in order to retain new material.
Maybe by doing something as simple as reorganizing your schedule so that you study less and sleep more will help you retain what you're trying to learn.

I too think it would mainly be a question of reorganising your schedule. Often people make the mistake of trying to cram in a lot of info in one go whereas little and often is much more useful.
There is a lot of stuff out there on how to improve your memory and learning effectively. You could look at guides written for A-Level/ university students. There is a lot in the field of Psychology as well. Also, books written for teachers about how to encourage effectice learning in their students might be handy. Hope it goes well insh'Allah.
There are several products that have been shown to produce measurable increases in memory retention such as memory fx or ginko biloba but these should not be taken without first consulting a doctor so that you know the risks and so that any physical cause can be ruled out

Avoid looking at inappropriate things. Scholars have said not lowering our gaze and looking at things we are prohibited from weaken a persons memory.
