Setting Up & Managing Supplementary School Seminar
Date: Saturday 12th January 2008

Venue: Islamic Cultural Centre, 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG
First of a series of seminars focussing on improving the standard of supplementary schools and evening madrasas. This seminar will focus on effective management of supplementary schools; looking in detail on policies, pupils’ progress tracking and achievement, etc.
The aims of this course are:
- To provide those who work in the supplementary sector with the relevant skills and knowledge to lead a project
- To help develop confidence amongst the project leaders
- To help project leaders to develop effective policies and structures
- To enable teachers to track pupil progress effectively
At the end of the course, we expect the participants to benefit the following way:
- To be equipped with the right knowledge and skills for community leadership
- To be more aware of the of the importance of having effective management structures and systems
- Project leaders and teachers will be more aware of the legal requirements of developing policies
- Promote achievement amongst young people in the communities they serve
- Improve achievement through more collaborative work and sharing of good
practise in supplementary education schools
This course will cover the following topics:
- Developing management systems and policies for supplementary schools
- Promoting achievement among young people
- Collaborative working and sharing good practice
