I aint no doctor but I assume it is just some women. Yeah 17 is way over the top - and so is 13 but some women are just blessed that they can cope mentally and physically and it does not affect their overall health. I don't think you're average woman could have that many kids- nor would she want to!

anyways the girl with short hair at the back on the top left looks gay, or is that a boy.??

Why does this thread have such a negative tone? If this were a Muslim couple, I'm sure this would have taken a different spin.

This family is very well organized, each older sibling helping the younger ones. This family has no debt, they don't purchase anything if they don't have the money, and if they want something, they save their money for it. This family has a strong bond, something most families these days don't have.

If we could get over the 'but they're christian' attitude, we could actually learn something from them.

Yeah, they do set a good example. If only we could get over religious differences, it's like once someone sees that someone (who does something good) is a Christian or something, we start to look for the downside to the situation.

Yeah, this family is not your average looking American family. They seem kinda 'odd' when compared to others. But they have religious morals, they have their standards and they stick by them. If you've ever seen the TV show that documents their life, you'd be amazed at how organized and happy they are.

Is it wrong to take a lesson from them, just because they're not Muslim? I admire them.

I agree Abu Mubarak. Its quite sad when you see muslims turning their nose up (not really referring to anyone on this thread but in real life) at people who have more than TWO kids. SUBHANALLAH, SHOCK HORROR she has TWO kids how ever does she cope?!

I think the family is BEAUTIFUL Masha Allah Tabarakallah. I would LOVE 20 kids if Allah will bless me with that...ok 10 if I'm being realistic but I love children Masha Allah and the more the merrier.

The only thing i fear is giving them all their rights over me in terms of spending time with them and such. Alhamdulillah, Allah never burdens a believer with more than they can handle.

I know of one family of four boys - Muhammad, Ahmad, Hamid, Hammad

lol isn't it!

I have been accused of being Palestinian quite a few times.... if you have light skin and are a Muslim, often people think you're Palestinian because they quite often have light skin. I was once even accused of being the mother of a Palestnian teenager that I know.... (to be fair she does look a bit like me lol)

hehe - interesting choice of word - I suppose these days the only time you'll get referred to as Palestinian is when you really are being accused :p

When you're hungry, starving and homeless you're just a person on occupied territory.

Joha is a character in a series of Arab folk tales (and funnily enough in a series of Jewish folk tales too).

Hmm... I had you picked as an English born (not sure what ethnicity), tertiary educated, married woman in her late twenties / early thirties.

I didn't realise you were being deliberately androgynous though!

Back on topic...
17 is a few too many I think. Not enough time to give them the individual attention I'd like to.
I think 4-10 is good, depending on financial capacity and where you live though. I'm not big on overcrowding.
Do they live in a rural area? It makes more sense then.

Edit: Also I think homeschooling a tribe of 17 kids in that environment could be a problem.

It depends on the reason for the c-section. When a woman is pregnant inshaAllah after having a c-section they check to see if she has to have another c-section or if she can have a normal delivery inshaAllah. If the problem with the first labour was something that would affect any labour that she would have then she has to always have c-sections.

dont think i saw this thread the first time round.
why are some muslims here making snide comments to them n things, there is nothing wrong with that amount of kids and we shud know that!
they managed to keep their home organised n look after them all properly, then we shud admire that.. its not easy!

also vbac isnt it something like 50% chance that u cn have it and 50% that u hav 2 go for another cesarian? then for only cesarian births they tell u to have that only about 3-4 times and no more bc it will become too much? bt then if its the case insha allah the mum cd foster some more kids or look after some orphans if they want to fill their house with many kids, insha allah they would still b able to find a way of doing that
