The lecture for this week will be delivered by Abu Mujahid.
Abu Mujahid is from Slough and he is currently doing a PHD and focusing on the Crusades and Salahuddin Ayyubi.
Abu Mujahid will deliver a lecture on the life of Salahuddin. The name Salahuddin Ayyubi is well amongst Muslims and non-Muslims. The legacy he left behind is a rich source of inspiration, but how much do we actually know about him? This lecture will provide us with the opportunity to become more familiar with such a prominent figure in history.

Business Enterprise in Islam
Saturday Lecture: 29th December 2007 7pm (Brothers and Sisters)
This Lecture will be delivered by Umar Abdullah.
Umar Abdullah is the Director of I.P.O (Islamic Propagation Organisation). Umar Abdullah has been involved in the field of Dawah for a number of years and he has over 50 dawah tables across the United Kingdom.
Umar Abdullah will inform us of business enterprise from an Islamic perspective. The issue of Islamic businesses is a topic that needs great thought and consideration. How many brothers and sisters have difficulties at work because of issues such as; not being able to pray, not being able to wear the hijab, pressured to shave the beard etc. Therefore we need some more insight into how to counteract these issues so that we can establish halal working environments. This lecture will be important for us to get an idea of what direction we should be trying to move in.

Tawfique Chowdhury
Conference: Our Duties to our parents & The honourary position of Women in Islam
Sunday 30th December 2007 - 4pm (Brothers & Sisters)
The conference on the 30th December will be delivered by Abu Yusuf Tawfique Chowdhury.
Abu Yusuf Tawfique Chowdhury was born in Bangladesh. He spent most of his childhood in Saudi Arabia before moving to Australia where he now resides. He graduated from high school earning the academic prize for excellence, attaining the third highest rank in Australia. He then went on to study at the University of Madinah, where he graduated in Arabic and Shariah with a distinction. Tawfique is also the director of AlKauthar institute which aims to deliver unique Islamic courses suited to Muslims living in the West. AlKauthar offers a range of courses which combines traditional knowledge with the latest technology and teaching methods.
Tawfique Chowdhury will be delivering two lectures on key issues that should never be overlooked. The duties to our parents and the high status of women in Islam. Unfortunately many of us overlook our responsibilities to our parents, this could be due to time constrictions, negligence or ignorance. Tawfique will inform us of key factors regarding our parents.
The position of women in Islam is something that is commonly misunderstood. Unfortunately many Muslims and non-Muslims do not truly understand the elevated position of women in Islam. Tawfique will inform us of the how imperative our sisters in Islam are.
Education in Islam
Sunday 30th December 2007 - 7pm (Brothers & Sisters)
This lecture will be delivered by Sheikh Ibrahim Yahya.
Sheikh Ibrahim Yahya has memorised the entire Qur'an and he is also a teacher.
Sheikh Ibrahim will be providing insight to us regarding the importance of education in Islam, both Islamic education and contemporary education.
We know that education is a very important issue in Islam, we should strive to be the best in every field. Education is a topic that us Muslims have to seriously ponder over because we are not hitting the heights that we should. This lecture will provide us with some much needed insight into the issue of education.
The Prophet (s.a.w) said, “Whoever seeks out a path to acquire knowledge, Allah makes easy a path for them to Jannah!” – Muslim.

This lecture will be delivered by Jameel Yusham
Jameel Yusham will be delivering a lecture based on Sheikh Uthman Ibn Fodio. Unfortunately Sheikh Uthman is not a figure that we know too much about. But his life and story is a rich source of inspiration. Sheikh Abdullah Hakim Quick stated that "Uthman Ibn Fodio is probably the most influential Islamic scholar in the history of Islam in west Africa".
Jameel Yusham will give us an insight into this extremely influential figure.
