Whats the difference between mono and stereo? Plus for listening to lectures is it better to use mono and for listening to naats and nasheeds is it better to use stereo? Thanks

Stereo sounds more natural (unless you're deaf in one ear).

mono sound means there is only 1 channel. this is good for speech recording. stereo sound means there are 2 channels. this gives the sound more dept so you can hear the placement of sounds.

Mono - Monoraul - means sound will only come out of 1 speaker, I have some surats etc which do this so that it comes out of the right speaker (or the right earphone)...

Stereo - means sounds will come out of both speakers, or even more channels if you're using surround sound etc (this depends on the sound card used).

Well, if you have a choice to use stereo then use stereo! Its better and if you listen for long periods of time through only 1 speaker/headphone its not good for the ears. (thats why hands free kits mostly have two headphones nowadays and why IMO bluetooth headsets are a bad idea - as well as cos of all the extra waves etc with bluetooth)

mono audio files just means that there is a single channel which normally use both speakers. stereo audio files just means that there are 2 channels, where the left channel is slightly different from the right channel. using stereo for lectures is overkill.
