Fold it in a triangle and then tie it round like a bandana.

Thats the best method i think.

But iam sure the sisters will help.

Iron
Put around head
Pin under chin
Put 1 edge over head
secure wiv fancy pin
bring other edge across opposite shoulder
Secure wiv safety pin

(Works with triangle and shayla type scarf)

Bandana style is dumb  cos ur exposing everything apart from hair i.e. neck and chest.

Here are some step by step guides/tips: http://www.almuhajabat.com/page.wearhijab

There are lots of videos on Youtube, type in hijab/how to wear hijab.

if you were to tie it like a bandana like Arsalan said, you could still see your neck and hair from the back

The pictures i have seen are not that helpful and quite confusing

how do you do it now sis? and it depends on what type of hijab, the pashmina or the other triangle ones.

if its the pashmina...

-Put it on your head keeping one side longer than the other, say you keep the left side longer, make the right side be up to your right shoulder.

-Then fold it in from both sides at the level of your ears and bring it down towards the bottom of your chin, put a safety pin here.

-Take the longer side and wrap it around our head once a bring it back down to the left side of your head and put a pin there :D

Sorry if that confused you more, i'm not sure which style you wanted. that's the general one, and everyone has different ways of doing it.

If anyone knows of good websites with pictures then please post

Dont bother pinning it to your shoulder, that just makes your clothes all "holey".

If its a pashmina shawl then fold it in half. Put it over your head, pull it down from one side so its incredibly short and the other side it long. Pin under your chin. Take the long side up and round and pin a few inches above your ear.

Bring it down and past under your chin again and pin the remaining fabric above a few inches from your other ear.

Viola :D

salaam sis

dont worry so long as u use it to cover yourself properly inshallah....i use to find hijab difficult to wear too because my hair would stick out from the khimaar/hijaab. If you wear a hijaab/khimaar ensure you place a bandanna or hair band to ensure no hair shows. One of my closest firnds advised me to wet my hair back or comb it back but i think a hair band or bandanna is great to keep hair in place esp if the hair is left open.

Also if you are thinking about styling your hijaab, i think the best hijaabs are pashmina scarves, they are not only stylish but very easy to put on and are lengthy so u can cover urself properly and they look nice with the hijaab accessories/clips u can attach with them. There are many styles of hijaab and some of them were show on city sisters om islam channel. What ever style you do or think about doing just make sure the khimaar isnt too short and beats the object.
Hope the above helps....

depends sis how u want to wear it and what u feel is comfy for you and how u wish to wear it

i had 2 try a few ways until i found a way i found was practical and comfortable and fulfilled the criteria of hijab

try using the videos and advise given

if u want you can also buys hijabs that u just slip on, not just the baby ones... you can get long khimars u just slip on and they slide on perfectly, but you can pin them under your neck if you want it tighther etc

also, many people try different styles until they find what they like so try and few ways, look and ask sisters how they do it... and u see what u like best

just try and keep it an actual hijab and not some mickey mouse imitation or something of the sort

yes good advice

a bandana is a must esp if u have short hair it sticks out, a bandana helps to keep ur scarf neat and u dont need to keep re-doing it and it keeps ur hair under the hijab

yes i like pashminas they are comfy (dont itch ur head or neck) and can come in long modest shapes etc

and arent see through usually:up:

Well you bring the remaining bit that you had pinned up before round again otherwise you'd have a huge bit hanging off the side of your head :p
