wow, but the time you spend on your computer looking at slick high definition graphics, I'd spend outside, looking at slick infinitely detailed graphics.
See, I have the graphics card me mother gave me, and it's better than your NVIDIA ;)

u mean 8800 GTX? damn...that's some powerful card :)
make sure u got the power supply for it. if u don't have ample power, the cards don't really perform at optimum speed (no pun intended on cablevision).
don't forget the cooling system either....look into liquid cooling

whoa!! You guys have some seriosu graphics card... I have a mere ATI Radeon X1550... And its fine for Quake 4 and Doom 3! (although those are pretty old now). I was thinking to upgrade to like an Nvidia 7600/7800... But you guys come out with 8800GTX those coss looads! Lol...
Then again I'm running a Pentium D 845... I dunno... Maybe when I decide to start playing more PC games I'll upgrade (but will probably need a better processor, and RAM... might just build a new pc one day...).
But yeh.... When I was workin at pc world we had an 8800GTX SLI with 4 protectors round it lol, it cost £400 when we released it... And we had another computer that had the same card, and Packard Bell issues a special Gel cooling system with it! You had to replace the Gel in the system every 3/4 months!... Crazy stuff..

Haha nice word belal! True eh... Muhammed, i would recommend an 8series card as they support directX 10. This support might be useful in playing new advanced games.
Excuse my asking, but what on God's Green Earth is a graphics card?

It is the chip/ board inside the computer which controls/ is responsible for display and their various properties. For example drawing textures of environments in games.

ah okay.. and i always thought the CPU was responsible for everything :o

it was.....back before the rise of video cards in the early to mid 90's. since then, we had the addition of the math co-processor, then video card, then graphics card, first 2D, then 3D...then the combination of video, and graphics...and now we have the physics card.
to sum it up: u weren't totally wrong.
