Assalaamu`alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakaatuh,

Bismillaahir Rahmaani Raheem.
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The Light They Followed

“…What a teacher he was, and what a man! He was filled with greatness, honesty and sublimity! Truly, those overwhelmed with his greatness have their excuse, and those who sacrificed their lives for his sake are the most triumphant.

Muhammad Ibn Abdullaah SAW was Allaah’s SWT Messenger to the people in the midsummer of life. What mystery was available to him that made him a man to honor among human being? And what grand hands did he extend towards heaven to let all the gates of mercy, blessing and guidance open widely! What faith, what chastity and what purity! What modesty, what love and what loyalty! What devotion to truth and what reverence to life and the living?

Allaah SWT bestowed upon him the amount of blessing to qualify him to carry His standard and speak for Him and made him capable of being the last of His messengers. Therefore, Allaah’s bounty towards him was great. But however the brains, inspiration and pens compete to talk about him or to sing hymns of praise to reveal his greatness, they all seem insignificant due to his superior traits…”

“…All that long life he lived, al his struggles and heroism, all his glory and purity, all the victory achieved in his life for his religion and the victory he knew would be achieved after his death were nothing but a brick, a mere brick in a lofty and deeply founded building. He was the one who proclaimed this and reiterated it. In addition, he did not make up such a speech out of assumed modesty, to nourish a hunger for glory. He emphasized the situation as a fact. Its delivery and transmission he considered part of the quintessence of his message. Though modesty was one of the essential characteristics of Muhammad SAW, it was not the only sign of his greatness, which reached an unrivaled level of excellence and superiority to be a sign and a symbol itself.

That was the teacher of mankind and the last of the Prophets. He was the light seen by the people, and he lived among them as a human being, and then after his departure from this world, he was seen by the whole world as a truth and a memory…”

The above was an excerpt from the book: ‘Men around the Messenger’.

What an amazing creation of Allaah SWT he was! Sub7ana`Allaah, and all we have to do to achieve the success he did, is to follow his footsteps, his Sunnah. And when I gave some time to think about it, I was shocked to see how much (of his Sunnah) I really have been following! Sub7ana`Allaah.

Brothers and Sisters, a man who cried all night for his Ummah, who would worry more about his brothers and sisters in Islaam than himself, a man who struggled throughout his life just to make our lives easier just so that we could sleep with peace, just for us! And here we are, not even caring to follow his simplest Sunnahs Sub7ana`Allaah. How can we expect all this that’s happening to us, all these troubles and worries to go away from us when we have created them by our very own sinful hands?

I look at a mother, a Muslim mother. And see how much she teaches her little children about her wonderful deen. But what I see is a mother preparing her little kids for Halloween when instead they should be dressed up in little thoubs and wearing kufis and hijaabs, reading Qur`aan and their sweet melodious voices spreading in the house! Ya Sub7ana`Allaah isn’t it scary where we’ve got to… It was a Mother who gave birth to Muhammad SAW, a light for the whole world, which will never perish even after his death. It was a mother who gave birth to a strong Mujaahid, a strong Sahaabi Khabbaab Ibn Al Arat RA who was a master in the art of self-sacrifice, from whose lips you wouldn’t hear a single word of complaint even when a burning iron rod would be placed on his head! Sub7ana`Allaah.

Then I look at the Daughters of Islaam. Dressed in tight jeans and tops that reveal their bodies but still have a tiny bit of Hayaa to wear a Hijaab! Sub7ana`Allaah. Why not throw that away too. Ya Banaat el Islaam! Whats got in to you? Where’s your Hayaa? Where is the Hayaa that your Believing Mothers had? Hayaa that the Black woman who had leprosy had and would still cover herself? We are pathetic just pathetic Sub7ana`Allaah. And when those filthy playboys come to you, you mix with them! You let them touch you! How can you let yourself fall so deep down??? Don’t you remember the words of Allaah 3azza Wa Jal “ O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies...” You are a model of modesty and chastity, purity and sensibility, generosity and fragility, beauty which is to be hidden from all lustful eyes and revealed only to the maintainer and protector of your body, the one with whom according to the Will and Decree of Allaah 3aaza Wa Jal you have to spend your life with. By Hijaab you respect your self and gain respect sisters, do it solely for the sake of Allaah 3aza Wa Jal, free from any feelings of Riyaa` in your heart.

When I look at the Sons of Islaam, I see them indulged in this Duniyaa, worried about all materialistic things, what car should I buy? Does this black net shirt go with this gray pant? Sub7ana`Allaah, they are in the age when the Sahaabaas of their age would be weeping all night for the fear of their Lord 3azza Wa Jal and couldn’t sleep for fear that they would die without having the name of their Lord mentioned! Sub7ana`Allaah and here they are! Sleeping with headphones stuck in the ears as if they were surgically attached to them. O Sons of Islaam! O lions of the desert! Don’t waste your lives doing nothing. Take advantage of this very second of your life and spend it in His worship. Don’t just sit here, Brothers. Your brothers in Sheeshaan, Felasteen, Kashmir and all around the world are calling you…the music in your ears have made you deaf to the cries of your sisters and mothers calling you to save them from the filthy hands of Kaafirs! O Brothers In Islaam, follow the footsteps of the great Companions RAA of your Prophet SAW, the Companions like Ibn Rawaahah RA who would stand in the army and recite:

truly ask the Most Beneficent’s Forgiveness
And a mortal stroke of a sword
That will strike me down
Foaming or a mortal stab
With a spear by a stubborn disbeliever
That will make my liver and intestine
Show out of my body. So that
When people pass by my grave,
They will say: By Allaah, you are
The most righteous warrior.

By Allaah! when this world will end all of a sudden we will be left with nothing but our deeds! And these worldly things will speak against us! It will reveal all we did in secret although it wasn’t hidden from Allaah 3azza Wa Jal. He is the ever-Watchful Brothers and Sisters, Fear Him and amend yourselves before it’s too late!

Allaahu Ma3akum.
