Problem with halal food

My family sometimes cooks halal food and sometimes doesnt. Not meat from pigs, but just not slaughtered in a halal way. I don't know what to do.

You don't say how old you are... I presume that your parents buy and cook the food and you don't have much say what they serve.

Possibly inshaAllah you could try talking to them about the importance of getting proper halal food.

Alternatively you could offer to do all the shopping (if you're not working and earnign your own money then this would mean they give you the money and you go out and buy the food) - that way you can ensure you only buy halal things inshaAllah.
