as salamu alaikum,

Nintendo just released on sourceforge japan, their ES operating system. what really makes this unique is it's based on the FAT file system, using javascript, uses cairo for graphics output, bluetooth, etc.

some are speculating it to be a prototype of the inevitable nintendo computer (which was the aim of the original NES/famicom).

that there's a new OS in town being experimented. :o

however the implications is the parts that really juicy. think about it, if this OS really takes off in the developers sense, then insha'Allah more and more corporate backing will occur. if that happens, nintendo might think about incorporating it in a future product...maybe have something that's similar to XNA where if u develop for one system, it works on the other (think games for windows vista and xbox 360). just speculation, but really interesting stuff :)

imagine this bro: you have some people playing mario kart on the wii, over the net, multiplayer. and then someone decides "hey it's time to leave" but u don't wanna finish the match because some punk called u a sissy! so then u whip out the DS, load up mario kart X2 or whatever it'll be called, and then go to the nearest wifi hotspot. u log on, and while ur on the DS, that punk is on the wii, but u can still play against each other head to head.

now that be hot :coolbro:

that's gonna be the future of gaming...
