whoa! when u called it frankenputer last time, u wasn't kidding!
but that looks very promissing....actually, i remember u mention u know how to weld and craft things? u ever thought about making custom cases? i bet if u wanted, u coulda make a really hot CPU case, maybe with some fiber glass? that would give it a really sleek polish :inlove:

well the franken puter now has a new home. The power supply died night before last so I dug out an old ATX server case with a swappable drive. I moved all of the internals into the new case. I just need to get a SCSI card and I can run up to 8 drives :D

interesting stuff. why did your power supply die out? was it really old?
btw, 8 drives, that's alot of data. u knwo if u have that kind of storage, and u keep that server on all the time, u might aswell do a cool project, like take old pc's...turn them into media terminals, where u keep the movies, shows, cartoons, etc, on the server with 8 drives, and have the other pc's just grab the content via VLC or something. it's a awesome project if u like working with ur hands (which I am sure u like)

when u get older, u'll start appreciating things that you make with your own hands.

The voltage rectifier burned out and yes it was old. I have other power supplies kicking around but none that would fit in the case so I just went with the biggest case I could find :D
Before I can start doing projects like that, I need to buy some decent sized scsi drives. I chucked the ones that were in it because combined they didn't add up to one gig :p...did I mention that it was an old server :p

LOL, u gotta be kidding me. u got hard drives that old lying around? reminds me of my uncle's OLDDD 286 pc which had 102 MB hard drive (it was "high tech" back in the days).
u sure u wanna use SCSI with such old HDs?
side-topic: did u know u could use ur VCR as a tape drive? u can hack it so u can use regular old VHS as tape drives, and get gigabytes of data storage...
