Is it haram to have muslim boys as contacts, as in being able to send them muslim issues/stories along with sending to your friends. is this permissable in islam? i don't necessarily mean talking on msn to them but just as in sending them knowledge on islam???

I don't think so. You have a worthy cause. There are many Muslim brothers and sisters in this forum who help each other out.

Jazakallah Khairan
your replies have been useful to me because i was stuck because some people added me, sending me knowledge on islam and i was confused if i was allowed to send articles and websites back which would increase our knowledge on islam.

You are allowed - provided you follow all the proper adhab - to communicate with the opposite gender for the purpose of teaching and learning. For example Aisha (ra) lectured on Islam to both men and women, but when lecturing to men she was behind a screen so they could not see her. Muhammad :saw: also taught women, again following all the correct adhab.
This means: hijab *must* be observed, in a classroom situation if there are men and women in the same classroom they are seated separately and all wearing the correct hijab. Women when talking to male teachers/students (or any necessary communication with men) must not beautify their voice in any way. The interaction shuold not include idle chat - only talking necessary to learning should take place, e.g. lecturing, questions and answers on the topic etc.
With regards on the internet - if you are not exchanign photos or idle chat, if the messages are purely educational, I *think* this is okay but check with a scholar inshaAllah. If its like facebook and you have pictures of yourself on there and idle chat that they could see, then I think you should avoid it inshaAllah.
