I watched the air strike on Iraq on television. I watched them pelt Iraq
with bomb after bomb .... the sky was lighted up with an orange glow showing
dimly through the heavy white smoke. And then the bombing stopped. The
reporter said that another siren was sounding. But I turned around and said
no ... its not a siren...... its the beginning of the call to prayer.

How strange ..... how sad ..... to see Baghdad full of smoke and fire and
destruction ......but yet through the smoke ... the call to prayer is heard.
What was the man who sounded the call to prayer thinking ?

Can you imagine ? He was inside the Masjid while those bombs were falling !
And yet without fear ....and not even knowing if the bombs are finished
falling .... he goes and sounds the call to prayer. Perhaps he was thinking
.....they may kill me but I will do what Allah ordered. They may be
dropping bombs on my city , but I will do as Allah ordered. I will sound the
call to prayer. I will pray and I will praise Allah. No matter what happens
to me ....to my family .....to my friends ..... I will praise Allah.

I am a weak Muslim . I do not know what struggle is. I sit here in the USA
and live a pampered life...... I complain because people stare at me ....
don't understand me ..... but there are Muslims who are living with bombs
falling in their city. There are children who do not understand what is
happening. May Allah make me stronger ameen. May I face my little
struggles with more strength while I remember the Muslims over seas who are
facing a much larger struggle.

May Allah help all Muslims everywhere ameen , and may he reward that Muslim
who sounded the call to prayer while the bombs fell around him.
....

Ameen
