**Help** SubhanAllah - brother has been sick for over a year...blackmagic ?

My brother was a handsome, lean young man, mashaAllah... But about 14 mths ago he begun to go through a awful lot of issues and his health has really deteriorated. SubhanAllah.

He has lost a awful lot of weight and is barely eating. He is weak and looks very unhealthy and has a number of health related issues which cause him to be in a lot of pain.

Allah knows best what has caused his health to drop to such a level - I really tried to avoid thinking / assuming that any evil work (blackmagic / evil eye) has / is involved but I now would like to cross that bridge and inshaAllah try to rule that out.

I have asked him to recite the four Qul and Aytul Qursi every day and he regualry drinks zamzam water.

But I am sure thier are loads of other blessed things I can do but I wanted to ask you.

- What other duas would benefit in this situation?

- What else can I do here?

- Shall I speak to a ulema / sheikh ? How & what 'work' do they do if they wanted to check if their was indeed any evil work (blackmagic) commited by someone - I am not sure what shariah permits in order to check such things and I am anxious to avoid any bidah / haram activity so please can hadith / reason be stated.

Please make dua for my brother, his bad health is of a huge concern as he is not the type to normally get ill or let anything get to him - but this has really depressed him and I am sacred that this will only get worse.

Erm... Probably a silly question, but have you consulted a doctor regarding this? I'm pretty sure there can be many medical reasons regarding his condition...

Also, there is a lot of Sunnah regarding black seed oil, encourage him to take a tablespoon or half a tablespoon of it every day Inshallah.

But yeh, book an appointment with the doctor asap, list all the conditions he may have so you may get it sorted out Inshallah - has the brother been feeling emotionally changed as well? Was there any recent event or loss in his life that may have affected him greatly?

stress can cause a lot of ill health, i would advise him to go to his local G.P first who can refer him to a hospital consultant and get his health checked out insha Allah may Allah assist him amin.

Here's an old and very helpful rule:

In other words, the most common explanation for something is usually the most likely explanation.

Illness is more common than black magic.

Although you don't give many details of your brother's symptoms, he certainly sounds very uncomfortable and in need of immediate care.

His rapid and unwanted weight-loss is in particular quite troubling.

He needs to see a physician as soon as possible.
