If you have classes? Prayer times, is still very difficult for me here. I've been missing my prayers esp zuhr and asr and end up making them up cos my classes at 11-1 then 2-4 Thursdays and 11-1 Fridays. that one hour in between from 1-2 I try to make the ones I missed:(.

You will be asked about your Prayers, not your qualifications...
remember our true purpose in life..is to worship Allah swt ...
miss the lesson, and do extra catch up work out of hours..!!!
Trust me that will be better for you now, and in the akira ..

you know i remember one shaykh said,

"people say they dont have time to pray and are too busy, but the fact is your too busy because you dont pray"

and subhan'Allah it is so true, the one who prays regularly has so much time and so much more barakah in their time,

sis, take five mins out of classes to pray, they allow breaks to go to bathroom and that and if you have wudhu, it wont take that long to pray..

also if you do it for Allah, Allah will make it easy for you to catch up on work, :)

May Allah make it easy for you -ameen

It is quote hard at my college in a certain lesson, as it takes 15 minutes in total to complete 'asr (going to the prayer room...) since there's no other convenient place to pray. I'm just hoping the teacher doesn't screw, because the other day, a girl went to have a drink of water and she went for 15 minutes, and he didn't like it. Insha'Allah he won't say anything to me...

:salams,

There's no excuse to be honest. I do it in between the lessons, I mean the little break times you get in between each hour. Just RUUUuunn to the prayer room, pray the Fard, then RUUUUUuun back. But as a Muslimah you can't run of course, so just walk FAAAAaaast.

Hope that helps... :outta:

I don't think you will have a problem. if you are a really good and hardworking student, your teacher may be a little lenient on you. I remember I had a teacher who let me and my sisters walk out of a final (altogether) for 10 minutes to pray. She said that she figured since we were going to pray, she did not fear we would cheat or exchange answers. After we prayed, we went back to finish our test. Another teacher gave us half of our test paper and when we returned after praying, she gave us the rest. But we were good students and respected our teachers, not to mention, we spoke with the teachers before hand :) Insha Allah, everything will be okay once you get used to the UK.

I see, that's cool. If there are no men around, then it doesn't matter but to be honest I think it's best avoided :o.

I just got the diss ! You better have an excuse for your rudeness :asta:, OR ELSE!! (I'm tired.)

Though for real yeah I sometimes don't run with people around, I just walk as fast as I can or do a little jog :O.

Here in uk the prayer times are very close now. Like zuhr is at 12 then asr is at 2 then the next one at 4. Sometimes i skip all and pray all of them together at night cuz i work alone through the midday which is why i miss all these prayers. I like the summer better. First you have some distance between the prayers and second you get longer nights so you can do extra ibadah. Its all good.

Pray ur zuhr between 1-2 and then during ur 2-4 class take a break , teacher wont mind , and go pray asr in a cupboard somewhere, or if ur lucky thel have a prayer room,. if u still have wudhu from zuhr time then wont take long to pray asr and get back to class.

remember ul be asked about this on day of judgement so forget what teachers think, what fellow students think, u do whats right for u and ur islam

teh place to pray is not an issue at all for me, i can always pray in unoccupied classrooms and use clean paper as prayer rug for sujud, just for my face is enough, the building is not that occupied and has a few empty rooms, but the time, i still havent settled in properly here. The teachers also not an issue at all, my teachers are all wonderful and im sure they understand me, and I dont have to tell them actually, just ask to be excused for a few minutes like going to loo or something. It's just me, ok, next class I'll do it inshaallah. Jazakillahukhayr for the advice.
