Asallamu alaikum wa rahmatullah hi wa barakatuhu wa magfiratuhu :D

im finding that i seem to be spending less and less time reading the Qur'an lately as i have been extremely busy.:( i have been trying lots of other little things to try and incorportae reading into lifestyle, and was thinking that this may also help others having the same problem. :o

1.started having a little surat yaseen next to the side of my bed so that if im having a break from working i can read it quietly as it only takes 5 minutes to read

2. downloaded quran on mp3 so i can listen on journeys

Thats all but if there anythings that you guys do to help you read quran during the day then please post your suggetsions

i also was considering carrying a small quran in my bag but then you have to be really cautious about where you put your bag and that. the office where im working at the mo. have music on so i feel really uncomfortable having it there with me...it feels disrespectful...

ideas please :D

Carrying the Qur'an with you is dangerous gal, be cautious *Hmm*

- You could try carrying little dua' books with you

- Aways stop and have a 5 min break from work and do tasbih of laa-ilaaha-illallah, Do it on ya fingers the sunnah way heh

- I would listen to Qur'an recitation on Mp3 once my mind is off work for a while

Hmm, need ta make momma tea!

Cyaaaa LOL I'll try carry on my list later..InshaAllah wa ta'ala ..If i live that long.

Get a new Nokia95 then download the Quran to it. It's just

Or before you go to bed read for 25 mins! 20 pages. If you do so everyday you'll finish reading the Quran every month. :)

yeah I have Qu'ran on my ipod and listen to it wherever I go - But the best thing to do is not to go back to bed staright after fajr. Stay awake awhile and do some thikir and qu'raan at that time b'cos its the only time when you wont get distracted and people wont disturb you!

u cud try reading 5 minutes after every salah insha'Allah, five minutes isnt much but it adds up to quite a lot, and its easier finding five minutes than half an hour or an hour free...

Kasim2k7
23-11-07, 10:14 PM
yeah. the most quran i can read is 5 paras countinously then my heart starts to go funny because the prophet s.a.w said that 'read as much as quran till your heart takes.' becuase quran is Allah's Kalam. its Jilali.

You should read surah yasin in the morning and surah mulk in the night. If you keep this up regularly you will see the difference it will make in your day. Plus read five times salah daily. You will feel things go smoother and you will feel the barakah around you. When something happens, you will automatically think Allah has blessed on me. Then you will thank Him. This is so great. The inner world of your soul where there is a war between your nafs and rooh.
Peace.

Concerning the last lines about music, I dont know about the Quran but you can do Zikr or read durood. Because your intention is not to listen to music.
Sometimes when im in the car with my father, he listens to music but I like to keep reciting Quran by heart so my mind never goes or my ears never goes with the music. Because the music is there but im reading Quran in my heart, so the full concentration is there. But i dont know about actual holding and reading the holy book itself. There should be some Adaab for that.

This hasnt got anything to do with reading quran but i found it beneficial :)

Adapted from http://www.islam-qa.com/index.php?re...=eng&txt=lying.

Enshallah i plan on printing this out and keeping a copy in my room. Some good things to do if your on the bus, waiting in a queue, just before you go to bed

In 1 minute you can…

1. In one minute you can recite Soorat al-Faatihah 3 times, reciting rapidly and silently. Some scholars said that the reward for reading al-Faatihah is more than 600 hasanahs, so if you read it 3 times you will, by the permission of Allaah, gain more than 1800 hasanahs – all of that in one minute.

2. Recite Soorat al-Ikhlaas 20 times. Reciting it once is equivalent to one-third of the Qur’aan. If you read it 20 times it is equivalent to reading the Qur’aan 7 times. If you read it 20 times in one minute each day, you will have read it 600 times in one month, and 7200 times in one year, which will be equal in reward to reading the Qur’aan 2400 times.

3. Say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god except Allaah alone with no partner; to Him be dominion and praise, and He is Able to do all things) – 20 times. The reward for saying this is like freeing 8 slaves for the sake of Allaah from among the sons of Ismaa’eel.

4. Say Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah) 100 times. Whoever says that in one day will be forgiven for his sins even if they are like the foam of the sea.

5. Say Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi Subhaan Allaah il-‘Azeem (Glory and praise be to Allaah, glory be to Allaah the Almighty) 50 times. These are two phrases which are light on the lips, heavy in the balance and beloved to the Most Merciful, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.

6. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When I say ‘Subhaan Allaah, wa’l-hamdu Lillah, wa laa ilaah ill-Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar (Glory be to Allaah, praise be to Allaah, there is no god except Allaah, and Allaah is Most Great)’, this is more beloved to me than all that the sun rises upon.” (Narrated by Muslim). In one minute, you can say all of these words more than 18 times. These words are the most beloved words to Allaah, the best of words, and they weigh heavily in the balance of good deeds, as was narrated in the saheeh ahaadeeth.

7. Say Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah (there is no strength and no power except with Allaah) more than 40 times. This is one of the treasures of Paradise, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim. They are a means of putting up with difficulties and of aiming to achieve great things.

8. Say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah approximately 50 times. This is the greatest word, for it is the word of Tawheed, the good word, the word that stands firm. If these are the last words of a person, he will enter Paradise.

9. Say Subhaan Allaah wa bi hamdih, ‘adada khalqihi, wa ridaa nafsihi, wazinata ‘arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah, as much as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the weight of His Throne and as much as the ink of His words) more than 15 times. This words bring many more times the reward for other forms of tasbeeh and dhikr.

10. Seek the forgiveness of Allaah more than 100 times by saying “Astaghfir-Allaah (I seek the forgiveness of Allaah). The virtues of seeking forgiveness are no secret, for it is the means of attaining forgiveness and entering Paradise.

11. Send blessings on the Prophet 50 times by saying Sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (May Allaah bless him and grant him peace). In return Allaah will send blessings upon you 500 hundred times because one blessing brings ten like it.

And also sister, you should always remember Allah just when you are working, think always that what ever things you are doingis for the sake of Allah. Whenever you cook, or whenever you work, is for the sake of Allah. Its blessings from Allah - that you have the opportunity to work etc. Wal alhamdulillah, remember therefore the remembrance of Allah which your brothers and sisters have mentioned. Like saying bismillah whenever you start at working, say subhanAllah, mashaAllah, etc. remember to mention these words. Allah taala will always be there for you when you mention these words inshaAllah. So just remember the remembrance of Allah taala when you are working, you will get a lot of reward for mention these words.

salam: ) so what i think is this..we should not let our daily lives interrupt our learning of islam..since all you are asking for, is suggestions, i have got a few, before you go to bed you should read islamic books, this could include stories of the prohets (PBUH), the ideal muslimah or muslim, the sealed nectar, (very detailed books and they have great english translations so i recommend those) of course there are thosands of other books that are well written and interesting too..in islam there is always something new to learn ( : hmmm what else, what you have mentioned before are great ideas, lol so much for me having a few of them but it was a figure of speech :P...anyway, i think as long as we pray, and do righteous deeds following the prohets (PBUH) we are set free in this world and may continue through the days and nights with no shame
