:) This is why I love Madinah. All these hadiths of the prophet s.A.a.w in Bukhari.

Narrated Abu Huraira rAa:
Allah's Apostle said, "I was ordered to migrate to a town which will swallow (conquer) other towns and is called Yathrib and that is Medina, and it turns out (bad) persons as a furnace removes the impurities of iron.

Narrated Abu Zuhair rAa:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "Yemen will be conquered and some people will migrate (from Medina) and will urge their families, and those who will obey them to migrate (to Yemen) although Medina will be better for them; if they but knew. Sham will also be conquered and some people will migrate (from Medina) and will urge their families and those who will obey them, to migrate (to Sham) although Medina will be better for them; if they but knew. 'Iraq will be conquered and some people will migrate (from Medina) and will urge their families and those who will obey them to migrate (to 'Iraq) although Medina will be better for them; if they but knew."

Narrated Abu Huraira rAa:
Allah's Apostle said, "Verily, Belief returns and goes back to Medina as a snake returns and goes back to its hole (when in danger)."

Narrated Saad rAa:
I heard the Prophet saying, "None plots against the people of Medina but that he will be dissolved (destroyed) like the salt is dissolved in water."

Narrated Abu Huraira rAa:
Allah's Apostle said, "There are angels guarding the entrances (or roads) of Medina, neither plague nor Ad-Dajjal will be able to enter it."

Narrated Anas rAa:
The Prophet said, "O Allah! Bestow on Medina twice the blessings You bestowed on Mecca."

Sunhaanullah you guys have travelled! Closest I've been to Middle-East is to Iran when I was like 3 and then Cyprus when I was 14 (beautiful place - surprising Muslim population)

Been a Londoner all my life :D But would have to say either Baghdad if it ever gets better or Medina - Even though I've never been to either! I guess I can only tell by pictures and what others say...

To be honest it doesn't really bother me too much where I am in the future, so long as I know where the qibla is!

Same here. I'd like to vacation in the small town I grew up in. As for living, I'd love to live in a small town, maybe even a little village... either that, our just a remote area somewhere, where my family and I won't be bothered by 'city' problems.

Somewhere where you can actually see stars at night....

Asalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah.

If I move in the future then insha'Allah it will be to a more rural environment, rather than another city (no matter how beautiful or friendly) - although I would consider moving to another city for the purposes of marriage, education or employment.

Alhamdulillah I have been fortunate to have lived in many different cities across Europe and Latin America. Among those I have actually lived in, or visited for a lengthy period of time, my favourites (for various reasons) are:

1. Cartagena, Colombia. Stunningly beautiful; full of history and culture; located on the Caribbean coast...*thumbs up*
2. Berlin. Germany.I was very, very surprised how much i enjoyed staying in Berlin.*smiles*
3. Leiden, The Netherlands. Small and picturesque, although probably too liberal for my taste, these days.*smiles*
4. San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. So beautiful....but waaaay too many tourists for my liking... *groans*
5. Huaraz, Peru. Extremely small and beautiful....if you like mountains, of course. *smiles*. Takes a while to adapt to the very high altitude (lack of oxygen), but it's well worth the effort.*thumbs up*

Of course, I hadn't reverted to Islam when I lived in those cities and it probably goes without saying, but these days I would only consider living in a city with a more "Islamic" environment where one is free to practice the deen masha'Allah, alhamdulillah, and able to incorporate Islam into their daily lives insha'Allah.

Yeah exactly. Being stuck indoors all day is unhealthy, as well. It would be nice to be able to grow your own garden, fruits and veggies, maybe even livestock. Even in the West bro, one who Practices the Deen-Ul-Haqq shouldn't ever be ashamed ...

When You have Truth, there is nothing to be ashamed off, what is Truly shameful is when one knows the Truth but doesn't practice it, they conceal it, hide it, pray only at home etc, as though this is a personal matter ... such is a disgraceful state many are in, I have been in myself ...

Tokyo, San Fransisco, Chicago, or some city in Utah/Arizona.

Dubai is also a consideration

Dood,

sooner or later you need to make up your mind. You had a whole thread get goin w.r.t. where you wanna live and almost made up your mind for Toronto.

Now, itseems like its changed again. Mood swing eh?

LOL, if thats the case, then it swings more frequently than women tend to go for shopping. ( i guess you never heard this type of comparison b4. I know i know :P )

lol there are alot of places that are left untouched, but those are places i would like to go to because of Islamic history, some amazing shuykh had lived in some of those places and i also really, really want to study in most of those cities so its a win win situation for me.

No city is gonna last forever, we'd rather plan ahead

I'd like to live in Jannah Insha'ALLAH

May Allah grant us all Jannah [Aameen]

I'd like to go to the east, I am born in United Kingdom. I'm Pakistani i've been Pakistan many times and its beautifull the taste and the lifestyle of your backrounds its just great and relaxing. After my GCSE's i'm hoping to go there again for a loong break then come back for my A levels. I'd realy like to live in the holy citys Madinah & Makkah from what i've heard from people who have been Hajj, Ummrah its really beautifull there, also I would like to be protected from the Dajjal when he arrives as those citys will be protected by the angels. Although I don't think I should put it that way ;)

DC sucks, I want out of here as soon as I can afford to leave. So far as US cities go, Charlotte is high on my list. International cities in consideration: Damascus, Mecca, Medina, Cairo, Jakarta.
