Some believe peppermint tea has healing effects, as a result of the menthol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menthol) that it contains. It is said to ease such problems as irritable bowel syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irritable_bowel_syndrome), nausea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nausea) and vomiting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vomiting), diarrhea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diarrhea), headaches (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headache) and baby colic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_colic). Its minty flavour can take the edge off bad breath (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_breath). It is also said to control mild asthma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asthma), manage stress (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress_management) and ward off the common cold (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_cold). In some countries, peppermint tea preparations list these proposed effects on their labels. Peppermint tea originated in Germany.

Meant to be good to aid food digestion.
Personally - it gives me toothache.
i drink it sometimes if i get a headache... or if i get heartburn

Oddly enough, some people are very sensitive to mint oils and experience severe heartburn if they ingest even small quantities.
A common problem nowadays: super-strong mind-blasting mint candies and gums and toothpastes.

Turkish researchers say women who suffer from excessive hair growth (hirsutism) may be helped by drinking spearmint tea.
Interesting!

I have hundreds of herbals remedies in my house ... all sorts of bottles and bags and boxes ...
My favorite is aloe vera (noni) juice ... relaxes you from the inside out ... great stress remedy ...
I never get colds or the flu or viral infections ...

Oooh, I got this really cool vision of your house, kinda like an alchemists home, bottles, bags and boxes... hehe
Chamomile tea is good before bed.... relaxes the kiddos, too!

Spearmint is a little milder or softer than peppermint.
