VERY SHORT INFO. ON ZAMZAM!
Zamzam is the name of the well that has provided and quenched the thirst of billions of people throughout history, especially during the season of Hajj. Pre-Islamic time, i.e. the time in between Prophet Hadhrat Esa (Alay Hissalaam) and Prophet Hadhrat Muhammad-ur Rasulullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) it was called Shabba'ah which meant satisfying - it even helped the disbelievers nourish their families. Zamzam is a tangible miracle that highlights the dignified status of Prophet Hadhrat Ibrahim (Alay Hissalaam), who is the father of the Prophets and Hadhrat Ismail (alay Hissalaam) who helped Him build the Ka’abah, as well has hHs truthful mother, Hadhrat Hajara (Alay Hassalaam).
In a Hadith, reported by Hadhrat Abu Darr (Radi Allah Anho), the Holy prophet, Hadhrat Muhammad-ur Rasulullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, "It is a blessing, and it is food that satisfies.” (Muslim)
In another Hadith, Hadhrat Aisha (Radi Allah Anho) reported that she took Zamzam water home with her in bottles, and said, “The Messenger of Allah Taa'la, Hadhrat Muhammad-ur Rasulullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) took some of it away with Him and He used to pour it on the sick and give it to them to drink.” (Tirmidhi).
Let's conclude with a Hadith narrated by Hadhrat Jaabir (Radi Allah Anho) who sates, 'I heard the Holy Prophet, Hadhrat Muhammad-ur Rasulullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) say': 'Zamzam is a cure for any purpose for which it is being drunk.' (Ibn Maajah)
