Well, these "secular" things have been examined through peer review and other critical means. Religion on the other hand is not, in fact all religions take offence to critical analysis such as peer review. If I am dismissing religion it is based off emperical means.. but am I doing this? Where did I dismiss religion? Religion is merely a means to explain the universe, and the mind, despite being based off whim and unsubstantiated claims, I am not dismissing it, although in the rules of Argumentation Theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentation_theory) I could very well do so.
