as salaam alaikum
everyone, I am sure, knows about the conquest of Constantinople by Ottomans in 15 th century from romans.
when they conquered the land (city), they converted the famous hagia sofia church into a mosque and it remained like that for centuries.
well, what is the islamic ruling on that? I don't remember any hadith that the sahaaba converted any temples of non-muslims into mosques. in fact, muslims are supposed to be tolerant to other religions.
just a thought.. any ideas??
