'Tis a great concern when such events get in the way of one's study. Mashallah I'm sure the talks would be beneficial....but in the long run so will your education. Don't neglect or miss out on lessons UNLESS it's a very valid reason - for instance in my case I had Jury Service.

basically it was reminder that Allah has made it easy for us in this month to do gd deeds, how little food and sleep makes you more able to earn gd deeds.

How Prophet(saw) advised Abu Hurayrah ra of 3 things: pray salaatul Duha, pray Witr before sleeping and fast the 13,14 and 15th of islamic month not gregorian. These 3 fasts are highly recommended so we should try to fast them.

without a doubt the 6 fasts of shawaal are also very gd..if you fast Ramadan and follow with these 6 it is as though u fasted whole yr (ie.hasanaat) NOTE SISTERS: MAKE UP THE MISSED FASTS OF RAMADAN 1ST THEN DO THE 6...MAY ALLAH make it easy for us! ameen thumma ameen

he said to make the most of the winter months and fast to the max bcos days are short inshaAllah

Our ibadaat and amal saalih may decrease but we should try to make sure that whatever we do, it is the quality that matters, like a hadith if i remember correctly says how 2 ppl may be praying side by side but the difference btween them is like the diff btween the heavens and the earth! ie.khushoo'

And how small things should remind us of Allah like always make a habit of putting on right shoe 1st then left and take off left 1st then right and always give and take things with right hand (thats prob the biggest thing i took away, funnily cos it was just something new).

annndddddd how despite if our muslim brs and srs know, we should always remind them if they are doing something disliked, like the least we do is hate it in the heart, but you will be accountable if u stand n sit by and dnt say anything like the brother was asking about ppl backbiting at wk and what you should do....n if u JUST hate it in your heart----it will affect your heart and your actions i think he said..n thats toooo too true wAllahi, im not gona start another topic but your company u keep is soooo important at uni/work/school etc, MASHAALLAH some real top top sisters around that make you wna fly when your around them mashaallah! Im sure you know this ukhtee [my sister] but when you say jazak'Allah to someone, you should say jazak'Allahu khair cos "jazakAllah" means "may Allah reward you".. the jaza [reward] can be either good or bad..

And jazak'Allahu KHAIR means "may Allah reward you with good" and obviously you want someone to be rewarded with good cos if you wanted someone to be rewarded with bad, you'd make a secret dua on the sly and wouldnt tell them.

But ya anways just a reminder to myself aswell cos sometimes like we so used to being in a rush rush we just say whatever to get out the convo and just say like yea yea wahtever jazak'Allah
