Dilemma

Uhm well, subhanala this website is simply amazing. Ive been attracted to this site, but finally toke the step in actually registering!

I have a quick question or dilemma rather, the thing is i finally toke the step and decided that i want to get married, but the thing is i don't really know how to approach the situation with my parents. Mainly because i always found marriage as being a joke, no offense to anyone lol. But yea just had this overwhelming feeling that i needed to be closer to Allah (sw) and what best way to do it then get married.

Now i know of someone that i want to get married to, through a friend of a friend....should i A tell my girl to link me up with the guy(inform him of me) and have him go through my parents. Or B just tell my parents that i finally want to get married...ugh so embarrassing lol:rolleyes:

I think its best if you tell your parents first, and then you can say there is one person who I am interested in considering and then try to sort out that with this guy so they can be informed from the start. I say this because if you go to him and your friend, and get all this kind of thing underway without your parents knowing and then go to tell them it looks a bit funny to them that you did all this undercover things beforehand. Also you need to talk to them because if they show any resistance to the idea of you getting married you need to sort it out with them. If you have arranged privately with this brother and then you find they have an issue, you have a larger problem because now u and this guy like each other for marriage but parents are delaying it, and this situation can lead to fitnah.

Just go and speak to them about it, or if you feel shy just speak to your mum she can tell your dad. What is ur age anyway, maybe they wont feel suprised that you are thinking about marriage. They will probably be happy insha allah
