You came to me a disheveled, lone thing
In need of help before it was too late
You came to me so desolate, with your future looking bleak
Your clothes tattered and worn, your body emitting a reek
The soles of your dusty shoes hardly there
Your image one of utter despair
You were turned from the doorsteps of so many before
It couldn’t be long before your heart bore…
A mark of distrust, silent hate for all
Who thought themselves too good to help you, too tall
Baby don’t you worry, and don’t you ever cry
Don’t let your hopes and dreams ever falter or die
Keep your chin up, walk like you know what you’re about
And if there’s ever a problem you’ll be the first one out
I know there’ll be times when you need a caring shoulder
When the world is harsh and the atmosphere is colder
But I know a smile would light your face, if you only but knew
How very special you are...because Allah loves you
================================================== ==
If you wake up I'll be waiting
To many, I am a sad thought
Just a depression to be fought
To others I’m devastating
If you wake up, I’ll be waiting
I’m a rose of a blood-red hue
In the lap of a midnight blue
I’m a sigh never quite fading
If you wake up, I’ll be waiting
I’m a small voice of pain hushed low
Whispered at night and tinged with woe
With waterfall tears cascading
If you wake up, I’ll be waiting
I’m an unwanted reflection
Stowed away incase of detection
My image is thought as degrading
If you wake up, I’ll be waiting
A lone star on the dead night sky
Trying to mute a muffled cry
Bleeding inside, fears parading
If you wake up, I’ll be waiting
I’m a wistful smile left to drown
A royal king who lost his crown
I need help, but no one’s aiding
If you wake up, I’ll be waiting
I’m an unwritten question mark
Beseeching you from somewhere dark
But I won’t say it’s frustrating
If you wake up, I’ll be waiting
Why do you avoid me like fire?
Running away from something dire
Like a monk procrastinating
If you wake up…I’ll be waiting
In need of help before it was too late
You came to me so desolate, with your future looking bleak
