Wa3laykum Salaam Wa Ra7matullahi wa barakatu

Interesting, sounds good and all that stuff but like yea, this is part 2 ya.

For those who want Part 1, we at Ummah Forum Projects (TM) are planning to run through Imam Nawawis 40 ahadeeth but memorizing the ahadeeth, maybe in arabic, but for now we'll stick to the english. An explanation of each hadeeth will also be given but I would still rcommeend everyone to go to this one cos you'll never get the same explanation as reading something and getting it told to you.

More info down there, its not ready yet and will run alongside the Ummah Quran Project but ya.

http://www.ummah.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=177

But its mainly for if you missed part 1, we'll go through them and then you can catch up and carry on with MK from 10 onwards insha'Allah. Plus you get a buff audio to go with each one. Oh yea, and even if you dont wanna do that, for those who missed the first part, if I recall correctly, QM ISOC will be released the note from last years first 10 ahadeeth as it is..

urm knwledge_seeker uno sumtimes wen we speak of the haqq (truth) it creates a storm but once the dust settles then the truth is clear... so inshallah im REALLI happi that u advise the way u advise and wen u advise... cuz like we all get times where we forget or we are being heedless and maybe at that point in time ur naseeha wont take effect but wallahi widout a doubt at one point in time it will realli hit home...

so inshallah dnt always apologise cuz u can give naseeha in the most SWEETEST way possible but if the person dnt want to hear it at that point in time it will sound like ur hurting them... but u know ur intentions... subhanallah i do understnd u and stuff... jst one ting ive learnt thru experience wen u advise dnt expect results but have hope that Allah will let that naseeha go to good effect.... i dnt no how much of that made sense but ya :D

17-10-07, 01:57 AM
^^^ Asalaamu 'alaikum Akhi Abu Nuh, Please get the brothers to do a recording of the first ten.

It will benefit the sisters a great deal too Insha Allah. I really enjoyed the sessions of the first ten and I was kicking myself for I only got to record a few of the sessions, not all, so it will be of great benefit Insha Allah.

Plus whoever from the brothers gives his copy first to the sisters, will get so much thawab such as:

1. When the sisters listen and implement the ahadeeth, he will get the reward without it reducing in their reward.

2. When the brothers see him doing it and follow suit, then he will also get the reward for them following his lead.

3. When the sisters share what they learn with others such as family members, other sisters and so on, then that will multiply his reward so much that on the Day of Rising, he would say Ya Allah, I don't remember this and it will be said to him that remember the good that you did for the sisters of Queen Maryam?

4. It might be what elevates his status in the jannah or allow him to enter jannah in the first place.

I hope my arguments will persuade you to be to rush towards this.

Even though that is like way too much information like you said, what I can advise is if you are feeling low in emaan etc. you can still listen to other islamic literature or even just read the translation of the quraan or if you already know arabic then study the tafseer to boost your emaan, MK's nawawi shahr isnt the only thing that will get your emaan up.

jzk, side point k_s: theres no a3yn in bi'ithnillah.

Actually to make this thread of some benefit, insha'Allah, 10 ahadeeth QM went through last year that people [including myself] missed for whatever reasons will be posted.

Note: these are not notes form the lessons Murtaza gave, so there is no explanation, just the ahadeeth in their original forms.

Oh yea, and included is the buff recitation of the ahadeeth I was on about aswell.

The collection of Forty Two Hadith by al-Imam al-Nawawi (or Imam Nawawi) has been known, accepted and appreciated by Muslim scholars for the last seven centuries.

Its significance lay in the fact that these selected forty hadiths comprise the main essential and fundamental concepts of Islam which, in turn, construct the minimum level of required revealed knowledge for every single Muslim. Since having good knowledge of the various fundamental aspects of the religion is key to a Muslim's practice and application of Islam, this web site attempts to provide simple and practical commentaries to the collection of Imam Nawawi's Forty Hadith.

Various principles are contained in these hadiths, such as belief, Muslim ethics and fiqh.

Hadeeth Number 1:

Actions are judged by intentions

http://www.dhikrullah.com/downloads/quran/hifz/nawawi/nawawi01.mp3

Or listen to it by clicking here.. (http://www.dhikrullah.com/downloads/quran/hifz/nawawi/nawawi01.mp3)

http://fisabilillah.org/hadith_forty/1.jpg

It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu'minin, Abu Hafs 'Umar bin al-Khattab, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, say:
Actions are judged by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated.

EDIT: Aaactually, I just realised we gonna go through it in UQP so will post then or in a sperate topic cos this will just clog this topic, oops.

While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of journeying were visible on him, and none of us knew him. He sat down close by the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, rested his knee against his thighs, and said, O Muhammad! Inform me about Islam." Said the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, "Islam is that you should testify that there is no deity save Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, that you should perform salah (ritual prayer), pay the zakah, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj (pilgrimage) to the House (the Ka'bah at Makkah), if you can find a way to it (or find the means for making the journey to it)." Said he (the man), "You have spoken truly." We were astonished at his thus questioning him and telling him that he was right, but he went on to say, "Inform me about iman (faith)." He (the Messenger of Allah) answered, "It is that you believe in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messengers and in the Last Day, and in fate (qadar), both in its good and in its evil aspects." He said, "You have spoken truly." Then he (the man) said, "Inform me about Ihsan." He (the Messenger of Allah) answered, " It is that you should serve Allah as though you could see Him, for though you cannot see Him yet He sees you." He said, "Inform me about the Hour." He (the Messenger of Allah) said, "About that the one questioned knows no more than the questioner." So he said, "Well, inform me about the signs thereof (i.e. of its coming)." Said he, "They are that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, that you will see the barefooted ones, the naked, the destitute, the herdsmen of the sheep (competing with each other) in raising lofty buildings." Thereupon the man went off. I waited a while, and then he (the Messenger of Allah) said, "O 'Umar, do you know who that questioner was?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know better." He said, "That was Jibril. He came to teach you your religion.

^^^ Jazzakallahu Khairan akhi Abu Muslim, perhaps it would also be of benefit to put up the explanation that you learnt with the brother. I will put up my notes on the hadeeth that I went through with a teacher but they are PAGES and PAGES and PAGES...long and I'm STILL on the second hadeeth *embarassed face*

JazakAllah khairan Abu Muslim, will be very beneficial! may Allah reward you inshaAllah!

Is Br Yunis the one that does Affirmation of Truth run by Al Fitrah? Saw a few episodes on Islam Channel, mashaAllah his explanations were great! and the course looked amazing mashaAllah.

(and jzk for the correction re: bi'ithinillah)

assalaamu3laykum wa ra7matullah

barak'Allahu feekuma to you both. lol ok I know it looks like I'm always trying to correct you etc ukhtee but that is not my intention and I feel guilty like correcting you once again but erm but anti ta3rifeen rasululah SAW kala:"al deen naseeha.."..

When you make dua3 to Allah, such as saying "may Allah reward you" or "jazak'Allahu khair", you dont say "jazak'Allahu khair insha'Allah" or "may Allah reward you insha'Allah".

When you make dua3, you should be firm in your dua3 and say "Oh Allah give me so and so" or "Oh Allah, reward so and so". We don't say insha'Allah because everything is with the qadr of Allah so whether we want or not, it will happen if Allah wills [insha'Allah]. And the daleel for this can be found in Sahih Muslim..

And yep the same brother but it wasnt run by al fitrah, it was erm, cant remember where or when to be honest. and for the record, I'm nothing to do with fitrah..

Due to the heavy loses that they isoc suffered for the first part of the course, we are still trying to make up for it. Insha Allah we will try to get part one ready for those students who registered for part two. The fee for the audio for registered students will subsidised if we do give put them up for purchase insha Allah.

Unfortunately two of the sessions are incomplete for which Abu Nuh is responsible, so we allow brothers to admonish him, especially since he raised the issue of distributing the audios.

Gerrof at Mile End, come out, turn 90 degrees left, walk forward for about 10 minutes until you get to the front of QM, not the blue gates but the gates after, the ugly old entrance after the hole in the wall on your right.

On your left on the road will be some asian badboy wannabes in cars with loud pumping bollywood music and haircuts which look like they been done with a lawnmower, ignore them thumma turn 90 degree right again, theres a big fat clock tower, look at the time for no reason and find out how many minutes late you are then carry on forward for about 24.6 seconds and on the right is a small flight of stairs leading to the phyics building. Outside is a sign which may help, its says PHYSCIS BUILDING. Enter it, dont go in the lift, first door on your right leading to a rubbish small lecture theatre is the one you want.

And Allah knows best.

I want to start by saying that this is a reminder firstly to myself then you all and that the intention is not to preach to you but to advise you as my i love you all for the sake of Allah and therefore want you all to attain jannatul firdause insha'Allah.

I have read some of the threads started by qm isoc on this forum and was saddened by the loose nature of the conversations that are taking place in such a mixed arena. the threads are started by the brother to advertise the talks not to invite everyone to come have a chat, the saddest thing is that most of the nonsense is being said by sisters, sisters please find a more private medium in which to joke about with each other, not in the presence of brothers in this manner, there are many sisters only sections on the net where u can have this kinda conv, random brothers do not need to know about ur personal relationships with each other.

also brothers, please do not encourage these conversations by responding to irrelevant comments.

i understand that alhamdulillah we've had some grt speakers this term and will continue to do so insha'Allah and so people are excited and thats realy encouraging masha'Allah but how about we show that excitement in a more beneficial way, some ideas of what we cud do with the threads instead of random chit chat

1. post links to articles relevant to the topic (so we come prepared with question).

2. type out ur personal notes and post so we can all compare and bulk out our own notes.

3. everybody could ryt out five points of benefit from the talk.

id like to repeat that the intention of this post was not to offend anyone and if my words have offended anyone then i appologise, the intention was always to advice and i hope you all take this post the way it was intended

Ukhti, I don't think the threads should be closed after QMIsoc or Adz posts because it prevents people who have genuine questions with regards to the topic from asking questions and making general enquiries.

So if the questions are serious its ok? Yes, no? omg like are you going to the sami yusuf concert like omg where were you? I didnt see you at uni etc.

ok that post wasn't serious, I just felt like inlcuding everything you mentioned and being tongue in cheek or whatever its called.

To be honest bruv, I dont even see why qm isoc events are posted in this forum [unless its annual dinner] because the only people who end up going to the talks are qm isoc uni students who see the posters everywhere anyways. And if its not uni students, then its regulars who know people at uni and who will find out through them anyway. And if anyone is really interested, they could always go queenmaryisoc.co.uk and find all the future events there.

And if anyone has any serious questions, they can always ya know, ask in real life, offline. Or use the emails provided on the posters. but khair, whatever.

Hadeeth ahada ashra

http://www.fisabilillah.org/hadith_forty/11.jpg

On the authority of Abu Muhammad al-Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Taib, the grandson of the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, and who is dearest to him, radiyallahu anhuma, who said: ?I committed to memory from the Messenger of Allah, sallallahualayhi wasallam, (the following words): Leave that about which you are in doubt for that about which you are in no doubt.

========

Firstly, the hadeeth emphasises the importance of memorisation at an early age, who memorised was the grandson of Rasululah so obv. he was a little kid, when you younger easier to memorise. So make sure when you al mummys and daddy bi'ithnillah [lol] you make sure your children are doing hifdh from a early age when they got nothing else to do. Leanr the original text even if you dont understand, undersatinding can come later.

This hadeeth is linked to hadeeth sitta: indeed the halaal is clear and the haraam is clear and whatever is bayna dhalik is doubtful. A mutaqeen [one with taqwa] will leave many things which people feel is trivial even though they might not be haraam say for example...erm..following the sunnah of taking 3 sips which most people will think looong that. ok actually thats doing sometihng but you get the point. Like the hadeeht of Rasululah SAW: when a muslim sins, he feels as if a mountain is on his head and when a munqafiq sins it is as if it is a fly on his nose..

If something feels doubtful fi qalb, leave it alone. Some people use this hadeeth to say stay away from ikhtilaf bayna u3lema but this is wrong undertsaning. Ibn Rajab [RH] said: if ikhtila occurs between modern day scholars, refer back to the classical scholars.

This hadeeth can be applied to when you fart [or think you do in your salah]. Abu Hurairah narrted, the messenger of Allah SAW said: if somebody finds movement in his belly, do not elve the masjid until you hear or smell something [sahih muslim]

So basically, if you think you ya kno, let one rip. dont leave until you are CERTAIN and thats by hearing or smelling and ya. [lol this topic reminds me of a certain incident at rutc college but lets not go into that]

The name of the shaytan that whispers to you during salah is called: khazaab. dont know how this relates but take statement from whoever speaks the truth. Truth should be followed and not individuals.

And erm, this bit seems random but look at what was given to Rasulalah SAW, the Quran. Simple word, no ambiguity, easy to understand. Like in Surah Baqarah: and we created the ships which move and which benefit people.

So basically to sum all that up, ignore doubts in ibadah [worship]

All good if from Allah SWT, creator of the heavens and the earth and all mistakes are from me and this thing called shaytaan.*smiles*

Assalamalaikum warehmatullahi wabarakatahu

DOWNOAD HERE AGAIN..

http://www.dhikrullah.com/downloads/quran/hifz/nawawi/nawawi12.mp3

http://www.fisabilillah.org/hadith_forty/12.jpg

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said : The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "Part of the perfection of someone's Islam is his leaving alone that which does not concern him." [tirmidhi]

================

[not sure if MK mentioned this bit] Adaab is very important to ones faith and is an integral part of being a muslim, in fact, good character is one of the things that weighs the most on the scales on yamwul hisaab. And he definately didn't mention this bit, but I think what he was saying later about the hadeeth of rasululah SAW: a muslim should speaking good or reminaing silent applies to us all and particuarly on the forum, sometimes we just reply just like pointlessly without thinking about what we type, we should all try to..type good or remain silent..

First rule of good adaab: speak good or remain silent
Second rule: listen properly when you are being taught unlike me who obviously wasnt so thats why I dont know what rule 2 was lol
rule 3: Do not become angry
Rule 4: Love for your brother what you love for yourself [which is out of pure qadr actually the next hadeeth in imaam nawawis collection]

So basically this hadeeth, for a muslim, whatever does not concern him either in its actions [like say one brother is selling a toy car to another brother, you shouldnt just get up and grab the car as its being passed on and be like, why you selling this, how much etc.] or if it does not concern him in his speech [MAJORITY of things here], he shouldnt get involved in it. Basically just dont get involved in things that dont concern you, not too hard to understand.

And its not just leaving the haramaat [think thats jam3 of haram], its even leaving things which may be halal. In another hadeeth, rasululah SAW said: the muslim is the one whos tongue and hands are safe from other muslims [paraphrased]

Allah SWT has rights, and human beings also have rights. Some u3lema yakuloon: the rights of the slave, basically us, is more rightful than the rights of Allah SWT because Allah can forgive and he is most merciful but not all muslims or people will forgive, so be careful when taking a right away from a muslim, they could come back and haunt you on the day of the judgement, the day when every single deed you can manage to scrape will be worth more than the world. Imagine that, you don't want to stop yourself entering jannah just cos you are a few deeds short cos a brother/sister you backbit decided to claim their rights back form you on the day of judgement and youll be like, nooooooooo.

ahem, amaa ba3d, know that if you speak, Allah SWT knows what you are saying, he is the all hearer and even if you are not saying anything, know he is watching you.

Allah SWT says in Surah Qaf, verse 16: wa nahnu akrabu ilayhi min hablil wareed..And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge)...

Allah SWT also says in Surah Zukhruf, verse 80: Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private counsel? and Our Messengers are by them, to record. btw, messengers here means angels and the not the prophets..

If somone evaluates themsevles and compares their actions to their speech, their speech should be minimal. Allah SWT says in Surah Nisaa, verse 140: And it has already been revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell [ok not quite sure where that fits into it..]

And then it kinda went off topic and the 3 times it was permissble to lie was mentioned [some sister were probably thinking thats so unfair etc.] but anyways without getitng into it and stuff, the 3 times its permissble to lie, as per hadeeth of rasululah SAW: the husband to his wife, when reconciling between 2 parties and the third he didnt mention was during the time of war [which will explain a lot]

Oh yea, I missed first bit cos I was late for whatever reason so the first bit stuff might be missing, if someone could post if anything is missing or the first bit, would be appreciated, jazak'Allahu khair fi advance. Aaand I tihnk thats enough for one post, will post the rest in a sperate post cos loong posts are zzzz]

Back in the days, one man was dying or dead and the people around him were saying he was a inhabitant of paradise and the asked rasululah SAW to give the glad tidings of jannah. Rasululah SAW said: do not be hasty with your tidings, maybe he did some backbiting or had a bad character

OK, this bit is sometihng that will hit home..those who tend to be most exccessive in their sins, are those who speak most. Now Im not saying sisters speak most, but generally Allah SWT created the woman to be more chattier and sometimes they tend to go on and on and on and on BUT having said that, sisters might talk more but I think brothers most of the time talk a whole load of rubbbish so I tihnk that equals out lol. So we should all try to speak less insha'Allah [unless of course we are speaking good in which case, talk until you can talk no more]

We should try to end all our discussions/talks etc. with the kafraah al majlis which means the expeation of the sitting/gathering. And we should keep our tongue moist with dhikrullah [not .com, hehe]

Ibn Taymiyyah RH said: some people are like flies, they always follow filth. They are always looking for faults in people. Which actually reminded me of a hadeeht of rasululah SAW: look in the dirt in your own eyes before looking in the dirt in your brothers [actually allahu a3lam if thats a hadeeth but point still remains]

It is a disgrace of Allah swt that you get involved in this and that and the salaf [RH] said it was a sign that Allah has pushed one away form worship if he is always worrying about other things.

The reward for trying to perfect your character is that every action is rewarded 10 times and sometimes upto 700 yet for one bad deed you only get one bed deed [Allahu a3lam but I think this might also be general..] I know for sure when you read the Quran, for every letter you get a reward which is then multiplied by 10..

And also, hoever comes to islam, like reverts and they were jaahil [ignorant] no matter what they did, their sins will be forgiven, they come out like a baby [not literally]

Allah SWT says in Surah Furqan: Except those who repent and believe , and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

All good is from Allah and all bad from myself and shaytaan and Allah knows best *smiles*

Hadeeth 10 + 2: Perfections of ones Islam

DOWNOAD HERE AGAIN..

http://www.dhikrullah.com/downloads/quran/hifz/nawawi/nawawi12.mp3

http://www.fisabilillah.org/hadith_forty/12.jpg

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said : The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "Part of the perfection of someone's Islam is his leaving alone that which does not concern him." [tirmidhi]

================

Just to note though: There is about a billion and one spelling mistakes [jazak'Allahu khair to the person who pointed it out to me] esp particulary the arabic, don't take as exact, I don't like spending time making sure all my spellings are correct, speed type it, speed read it, thats it. al Asr, inal insanaa lafi khusr *smiles*
