Salaam alikum.

Today, I went to an iftar party with some friends from MSA at the local clubhouse. We ate pizza (with beef pepperoni), watched TV, etc. However, during Maghrib, we (about 25 people) were all cramed into a little space for prayer about 12'x10'. I was actually praying on part of the carpet and part of the floor to make room for everyone. And when we got up for the second rakat, the guy in front of me literally butted me. He got up and his butt went into my face as I was getting up. Has this happened to anyone before?

However, after the party, we went to the masjid for Isha. I had never seen so many Muslims in my life. When I went to the masjid for the first time last week, there were about 20 cars and 30-40 people inside. Today, there were hundreds of cars and hundreds of people inside. It was incredible. My last masjid had only a fraction of as many Muslims as I saw today, and it wasn't even Jummah.

Also, that new convert has a car, so we're going to be going to the masjid almost every day. When I went to the last masjid, I only was able to go about 7 times in 3 months. Now, I'm able to go almost every day. It's so cool!. :D

So yeah, that was my Friday night. How was yours?

Yea i love it when the majid is packed it's such a wonderful place! :inlove:

Good to hear your having a good time, you and your new convert friend mashallah. It's Ramadan, so naturally the mosques will be full. It feels so empty when Ramadan is over because you get used to the large number of pple.. but I must say, its usually full when there's a marriage lecture going on as well:rolleyes:

One more thing:

I prayed the longest prayer ever! Isha was 16 minutes long. I have never prayed that long before.

There was also a little kid (4-5 years old?) who was praying next to me, and he kept looking at me. And since we're doing the feet-to-feet thing, he was almost doing the splits because he was so small.

I actually made those a while ago.

But yeah, I'll stop making threads. I was just really excited because this was a big step in my life as a Muslim.

Well, I do admit that I get carried away with posting. I was critisized on another Muslim forum for stuff like this, so I need to stop posting as much. I'll start a blog somewhere or something.

I enjoy reading your 1st's threads and posts. Sometimes I think that we all tend to forget the importance of the "little things" that make the journey of Islam so sweet. I will never forget the first time I prayed at MasjidI cried like a baby lol. keep it up brother

Mashallah, fantastic news- wait till you go to Makkah  or madinah even, inshallah.

Thousands upon thousands of muslims, white, black, brown, yellow, pink, blue (the colours are not intended to be any form of racism) Basically muslims from every corner of the globe, young and old. It's a truely amazing experience.

akhi ur threads are great masha Allah some muslims dont appreciate how it is for us coming out of the dark to Islam, they take their religion and the brotherhood of islam for granted and dont appreciate how hard we fought to come to the deen and how hard we fight to be accepted and how isolated many reverts are in the muslim community, when others had them handed it on a plate from birth they take all this for granted. alhamdulillah its good to hear about your experiences and to see it all with new eyes masha Allah keep up with the threads insha Allah :jkk:

yaaa its fun isnt it. ive been going almost everyday and we literally have to get there about half an hour early or else be half an hour late becuz there is absolutely no parking! people end up parking on the streets and the city complained saying they would charge fines if it kept happening, but seriously, nobody cares cuz taraweeh prayer is much too important for most to care about a fine  ... thats just the mosque i typically go to. the main mosque in ottawa had to purchase more land to expand their parking lot a few years ago becuz of so many people. watch, in the next 10 days it'll be doubly packed becuz of lailatul qadr. but ya alhamdulillah it feels soooo goood to be standing next to hundreds of muslims in salah. :inlove:
