Cheating Death

I'm wondering something. In the movie "Final Destination", some high school kids get off a plane before it explodes, so they cheat death. However, they all die in freak accidents afterwards because Death is still after them.

I was watching this movie last night, and I was wondering: In the movie, Death has a design and plan for everyone, controlling when they live or die. Allah (SWT) has a plan for all of us, so does that mean if we cheat death, we'll die very soon because it's "still our time"?

I was just wondering this after watching the movie. What's everyone's thoughts on this?

I cheated death by Allahs will once in a car accident. It was truly a miracle I survived. That was 25 years ago. :D

Yes this is very true. I dont believe you can cheat death. When the time comes (which Allah has chosen) for one to die then there is nothing anybody can do.

This is why it is so important to always pray to Allah as no one knows when their time will come.

There is no cheating death, it is as inevitable as the seasons or the rising of the sun. Each of us have an alloted time and when it is up, it's up.
By rights I should have died several times but all that I can fathom is that it wasn't my time yet and alhumdilulah, Allah had other plans for me. This said, insha allah I will die a muslim

There is no cheating death, cuz if we said we cheated death, we're saying Allah (swt) plans for when our time is/was up have failed. He, the almighty, never fails.

If you survive from a freak car accident or plane crash, count it as a blessing from Allah (swt) that he wanted you to live longer. May it be a day or two or 50 years ... each additional day we live, its a blessing ... we're given another chance to repent our sins :)

This is not cheating death rather your time had not come..
As muslims we belive our life span (ajaal) is already determined by allah.. so we will die when we spposed to.. can increase it or decrease it..
you survived the acccident cos it was not time for you

Allah chose whether the person dieing or not. So, what we are suppose to do is just wait for it.

Though, ye still can prevent it from happening sometime and if you survive it that is Allah's will ^^.

if you believ you can cheat death then u believe u can cheat Allah SWT, no one can cheat death, absolutely no one, if u have a near miss , its because allah swt saved you, why? becos it is not your decreed time of death, it is peoples arrogance and pride that make them feel they have some kind of power over their lives, wen they say "so so cheated death!" :rolleyes:

its part of a muslims' belief in the devine decree, when your time comes it comes, after all the pen is lifted and the ink is dry, that knowledge is with Allah (swt) only, we dont know what is to come, that is the whole point of it.

Ive read stories in arabic news papers many time about things like this, one in particular, there was a man who fell from the 8th floor of a constrcution site on to concreate below and got up and survived, seconds later he was crosssing the road and was killed by a car...

this clearly shows that when it is our time it is out time, im sure many of you are familiar with the stories of the footballer who died in on the pitch just like that, there is many vids of it on youtube.

just sharing my thoughts on this topic

Ok - you CAN'T cheat death.

When the time Allah swt has set for you is here - thats it. Theres no avoiding it or changing it. Its His Will and it will happen as and when He willed it.

If you are in a dangerous situation and survive ( such as car accident) or near fatal illness and you survive- it is because He willed you to survive. You yourself did nothing, no matter how it may seem..Maybe Allah swt put you in that situation to teach you a test or remind you of death or remind you of His power - but if you didn't die then thats cos He didnt want you to.

Sorry to be morbid but our time is set, its written and nothing we do can change that - its all up to Allah swt - everything happens according to His Will.
