[UQP] Surah Naziat - Those Dragged Forth

In the name of Allah, the All Aware, the Preserver

Surah Naziat, the second surah in the final juzz of the Quran. Topics cover angels, heaven, firawn and the signs of Allah

Before we begin, we should seek refuge in Allah from shaitaan the outcast and purify our intentions to be solely for Allah SWT.

3 ayaats will be posted everday No other posts in here, just the ayaats. The ayaats will be posted, 3 ayaats in arabic, the english tranlisterated below and then once again, the english translated below that and, and the 3 ayaats broken up from Tawfeeq Sayagh for memorisation and tajweed [put this on your MP3 player and listen over and over]

Also, arabic word from each ayah will be highlighted in ahmar and the corresponding word in english highlighted in red aswell. This is for 2 reasons; to try to teach even a little bit of arabic and also, if you know the meaning of the keywords in the ayah, its easier to memorise the ayah.

Ibrahim Jibreen recomended as is the Ghamdi and the Efaasy version being slower, good for tajweed. Sao'ood Shuraim also recites this surah nicely.

[Abu Muslimah]

وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا

Wa An-Nāzi`āti Gharqāan
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence;

وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا
Wa An-Nāshiţāti Nashţāan
By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers);

وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا
Wa As-Sābiĥāti Sabĥāan
And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.).

فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا
Fālssābiqāti Sabqāan
And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.).

فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا
Fālmudabbirāti 'Amrāan
And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account).

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ
Yawma Tarjufu Ar-Rājifahu
On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die),

تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ
Tatba`uhā Ar-Rādifahu
The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up),

قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
Qulūbun Yawma'idhin Wājifahun
(Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety.


أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ
'Abşāruhā Khāshi`ahun
Their eyes cast down.

يَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ
Yaqūlūna 'A'innā Lamardūdūna Fī Al-Ĥāfirahi
They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life?

أَئِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَّخِرَةً
'A'idhā Kunnā `Ižāmāan Nakhirahan
"Even after we are crumbled bones?"

قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
Qālū Tilka 'Idhāan Karratun Khāsirahun
They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!"

فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ
Fa'innamā Hiya Zajratun Wāĥidahun
But only, it will be a single Zajrah (shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)).

فَإِذَا هُم بِالسَّاهِرَةِ
Fa'idhā Hum Bis-SāhirahiWhen, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death,


هَلْ أتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَى
Hal 'Tāka Ĥadīthu Mūsá
Has there come to you the story of Musa?

إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِي الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
'Idh Nādāhu Rabbuhu Bil-Wādi Al-Muqaddasi Ţūáan
When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Toowa,

اذْهَبْ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَى
Adh/hab 'Ilá Fir`awna 'Innahu Ţaghá
Go to Firaun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.).

فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَى أَن تَزَكَّى
Faqul Hal Laka 'Ilá 'An Tazakká
And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)",

وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَى
Wa 'Ahdiyaka 'Ilá Rabbika Fatakhshá
And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him?

فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَى
Fa'arāhu Al-'Āyata Al-Kubrá
Then (Moosa (Moses)) showed him the great sign (miracles).

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَى
Fakadhdhaba Wa `Aşá
But (Firaun (Pharaoh)) belied [denied?] and disobeyed;

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَى
Thumma 'Adbara Yas`á
Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَى
Faĥashara Fanādá
Then he gathered his people and cried aloud,

قَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَى
Faqāla 'Anā Rabbukumu Al-'A`lá
Saying: "I am your lord, most high",

فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَى
Fa'akhadhahu Allāhu Nakāla Al-'Ākhirati Wa Al-'Ūlá
So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last (i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") and first ((i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I") transgression.

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَى
'Inna Fī Dhālika La`ibratan Liman Yakhshá
Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah.


أَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ السَّمَاءُ بَنَاهَا
'A'antum 'Ashaddu Khalqāan 'Ami As-Samā'u Banāhā
Are you more difficult to create, or is the heaven that He constructed?

رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا
Rafa`a Samkahā Fasawwāhā
He raised its height, and He has equally ordered it,


وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا
Wa 'Aghţasha Laylahā Wa 'Akhraja Đuĥāhā
Its night He covers with darkness, and its forenoon He brings out (with light).

وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ دَحَاهَا
Wa Al-'Arđa Ba`da Dhālika Daĥāhā
And after that He spread the earth;

أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا
And brought forth therefrom its water and its pasture;


وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا
And the mountains He has fixed firmly;


مَتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
(To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle.

فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَى
But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.),

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ مَا سَعَى
The Day when man shall remember what he strove for,

سَعَىوَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَى
And Hell-fire shall be made apparent in full view for (every) one who sees,

فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَى
Then, for him who Tagha (transgressed all bounds, in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allah).


وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts),

فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَى
Verily, his abode will be Hell-fire;

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَى
But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires, and lusts.

فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَى
Verily, Paradise will be his abode.

يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا
They ask you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) about the Hour, - when will be its appointed time?

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَاهَا
You have no knowledge to say anything about it,

إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَاهَا
To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof?



إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَاهَا
You (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) are only a warner for those who fear it,



كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا
The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning
