If you know a good webhosting service, please notify me. I prefer muslim servicing. I currently have a Freewebs account. I am planning to buy a domain in within the next month. I want to trial the webhosting though. Free webhosting preferred, so I can take it easy in paying for domain.

the problem with www.mpadc.com is that you do not give a free domain, or more importantly, no free subdomains... i tried registering many times only to realise that we have to have a domain first

With Subdomains you are very limited to what you can do...........why not go for the full whack pay for the domain and do much more fancier stuff.
plus having a proper domain you more likely to get more web hits :)
Domain names are standard everyone has to pay for a domain name if its like www.yoursite.com (http://www.yoursite.com) there are no companies that will give you a free .com domain

that was the problem. i am happy with x10hosting because it allows me to test without paying for a domain name. plus i have not decided on a company name yet, so why pay for a domain name just for testing and development and then pay for another domain name when you decide on a company name....
hence, x10hosting was the answer for me. ;)

I'd recommend Dreamhost (http://dreamhost.com). Excellent service. I've been with them for quite some time now and had NO problems at all and have many many sites hosted on there. Also the customer service is top notch and very quick too.
Type in "77pixels" in the promo code for discounts ;)
No free domain though, but they are very cheap, a huge HUGE company and very reliable. Their hosting is also 'Green'.
Don't go with a host because of a free domain, domains are dirt cheap ( www.namecheap.com ) and reliability is the main thing with hosting.

From the US but they are good. Sadly UK hosting is just nowhere near as good as US.

My NEW MINIMUM requirements for testing.
Domain: Free subdomain, 2,3,4,5,6 level does not matter
Database: MySQL 5.x
Lauguage: PHP 5.x
File Access: FTP Externally
DB Access: MySQL Query Browser/MySQL Administrator Externally
Bandwidth: 200Mb+/Month
Disk Space: 20Mb+
Other: Ability to send emails via php script and cron jobs with database generated mail content.
Any suggestions?
x10hosting did all this except it has MySQL 4.x and I need to create stored procedures.

lol i'm only repeating what saeed has said. apparently from his experience, the one click installs , puts things in the wrong places and when it's time to upgrade, it can be a pain in the neck....
