Salaam Alikum.

If anyone remembers, I made a post about a college student who goes to my college who was interested in converting.

Alhumdillah, he just sent me a message on facebook saying he converted last night! We're going to meet at the college prayer room so I can show him how to pray and everything. I've also given him some links where he can get some Islamic supplies (prayer rug, Qu'ran, kufi, Sunnah books, etc)

This is so great. :)

Yeah, I'm going to invite him to some Muslim forums. Help him get associated with the Muslim world, etc.

Aww mashallah that's really cool. Warn him that Muslims are a very diverse and varied community and the true measure of Islam is something to learn from the Quran and the life of the Prophet (saw)- not necessarily the Muslim community itself. That way he wont feel too disappointed if he comes across Muslims who don't behave Islamically. Teach him to grow a thick skin very quickly, to protect him from both hostile Kufaar and Muslims who second guess him. Once he learns that, he'll be fine inshallah:up:

Make sure you tell him to stay away from the shias.

Or at least tell him what kind of sick beliefs they have.

Best to make him acquainted just in case one does befriend him.

But maybe not just yet - when he's comfortable as a Muslim :)
