I went to my new masjid today with a friend. It wasn't really what I expected, and not in a good way.

It was really dark inside because there were no windows, and it was sweaty hot inside and it smelled kind of bad inside. On the website, it says the masjid was completed in 2004, but my friend says they finished it more than 10 years ago. It seemed there was alot of older people, and my friend and I were like the two youngest ones there. And nobody smiled or was overly nice or anything.

I guess I was just used to my last one. At my original masjid, it was nice and cool inside, there were plenty of windows and the walls were light colored, so it had a nice airy feel to it. This masjid had alot of people around my age, and everyone greeted you with a warm smile and "salaam alikum" and everything.

I guess I'll get used to my new one. However, I still miss my old one and all the friends I made there.

Maybe one day you can suggest some decorations, and you and your friend can help e.g. paint the walls and such? :)

ya good idea ^^

in the summer u guys can fundraise (bake sale? hahaha) to "renovate" the inside and use that money to fix it up inside inshallah

get the whole MSA participating

oh! u can get a guest lecturer who wont mind giving a lecture about a certain topic and have everyone come (muslims i guess) and there can be like a small "entrance fee" like maybe $5 per person and get them to bring their families so its like $10 for family and then u'll earn even more money and the whooole entire MSA can work on fixing it up!

ooo wat a great plan i came up with! :inlove: too bad all our mosques are in great shape or else i would hav applied my idea to our own mosques :D
