View Full Version : Meaning of Love

It's not to smile; it's to frown.
It's not to laugh, but to drown
Love teaches you how to cry, how to bleed
And we die for it and then we reach for it

You can place it in your back pocket for life,
You know,
Just for the memories of that past life
You know,
Just so the meaning is never gone,
You know,
Because you can't move on!

So as you stand in the stampede of your days,
Grab the loudest heart beat with eyes wide shut
Learn to love it in so many ways
So you never have to ask What?

Does lobve actually make sense:S

how do we know what love really is, all this business is all based on out mentality

It's a lovely poem.

Though, I'm not quite sure what the last sentance means. It's good, thought provoking! :D

There is this misconception that love is the falling in love, the elation, the ecstasy and the feeling of sheer joy. For most though, love is the experience of losing a loved one and being forced to walk away from those memories. And this is what the poem tries to express.

The last stanza begins to describe how those broken hearted manage to love again; by loving the next person in their life intensely without condition so they never go through the realisation that they won't be stunned, with the reaction of "what?" and then be forced to walk away.

:)

I'd interpret that as something slightly different, but I like your definiton better.
