Hello
How can I know if this fish or that contains Iodine or not?
If I want to have a fish in a restuarant which kind of Fish I should ask for? Thank you very much.

Hmm you would have to look it up somewhere. I know Cod contains it, as far as i remember.

So you reckon Salmon would contain less Iodine? Would make sense.

Iodine makes acne worse and it's radioactive, one of them perhaps?

Actually, Iodine, in trace amounts, is necessary for most life. It helps stabalize the thyroid and yes, there are conditions that come with iodine deficiencies. Most naturally occuring Iodine is not radioactive. Those that are are used in cancer treatments and not likely to be found in fish.

~ Iodine is found in kelp (sea weed)
. . . and in most table salts.

deadly poison if taken in larger amounts; :(

OK let me make it easier, Does Tuna contain Iodine? How could I know? I need some Iodine. Which canned Fish contains Iodine? I don't want to cook Fish I want it ready, so either from a restaurant or canned.

Ok so you *need* the Iodine.

Well, it's been pointed out that iodine is found in iodized table salt, as well as in seaweed. Incidentally, if you ask your doctor, you can ask about getting iodine as a supplement.

But I want it from Fish not from seaweed etc. So Which Fish?:D I wonder

There are some foods and supplements that can be counted on to give you enough iodine:
* Ocean fish including cod, haddock, sole and ocean perch (Atlantic redfish);
* Sea vegetables and seaweeds;
* Iodized salt;
* Many vitamin and mineral supplements.
