View Full Version : C'mon people....!
....a sister got this in email and has posted it everywhere else ..and i thought why not post it here and get barakah in the signatures. spare 2 minutes of ure time.:)
Assalaamualaikum,
Insha'allah this email finds you in the best of health.
As you may or may not know, Gordon Brown formally proposed a bill to parliament doubling detention without charge to 56 days - MPs need to be lobbied to vote against this.
That is why we urge you to please sign this petition: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Truly-secure/ (http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Truly-secure/) .
Remember, any one of us or our dearest can be snatched up and locked without trial. they want to increase it to 56 days and then possibly indefinitely. It affects us all. Please sign this petition.
Jazaakallah in advance, and may Allah bless you during this month of Ramadhan.
Fiamaanallah,
MPACUK
Is something else being done about this other than a petition?
(have u signed the petition?)
i dont know tbh, but i do know that this is one (way).
or are u the kinda person that dont do petitions?
Being cruelly awoken in the morning:
“In the morning when the door was smashed down and the British police stormed my home. My three month pregnant wife and myself were there at the time. My wife who is not from this country was shocked mentally and psychologically.”(Mustapha Labsi, Foreign National detained in Belmarsh).
What was their crime?
Imagine the lives of the families whose husbands and fathers are detained:
“She was left with her children with a broken door for several days and was terrified that people would break in and attack her. She was terrorised by her racist neighbour who set his dog on her and threw cleaning water on her on the stairs of her estate.” (Niki Adams, Legal Action for Women).
What was their crime?
Imagine suffering in silence:
"I didn’t sleep that night and for two days I sat in the park with the children so they would run about and not see my tears”. (Wife of Jamil El Banna detained in Guantanamo Bay).
What was her crime?
Imagine losing all hope, the desperation:
"We are devastated and helpless and losing hope by the day. Even animals have more rights to care and concern than the interned and even those who commit the most heinous crimes are given access to fair trial and jury.” (Wives of detainees)
What was their crime?
Imagine the anxiety of not knowing where your father has gone:
"Their kids just couldn’t understand it, there was nothing the mothers could say to explain why their fathers had been taken away from them…" (Niki Adams, Legal Action for Women).
What was their crime?
Imagine being shunned by society and by people you thought were your friends:
"She has found deeply hurtful the loss of some Muslim former friends who, perhaps, fearing the taint of ‘terrorism’ have abandoned her.” (Victoria Brittain, about the wife of Jamil El Banna).
What was her crime?
“I wish people could see the human side: the wives being thrown out of their homes, one woman miscarrying from the shock of her husband’s arrest, the effect it has on her children.” (Mudessar Arani, solicitor)
Please open your eyes.
Gordon Brown formally proposes a bill to parliament doubling detention without charge to 56 days. MPs need to be lobbied to vote against this.
The UK police terrorism arrest statistics (excluding Northern Ireland) from 11 September 2001 – 31 March 2007 of the total 1228 arrested, 132 were charged with terrorism legislation offences and there have been only 41 Terrorism Act convictions since September 2001. Put another way, 96.6% of those arrested under the Terrorism Act, usually in the full glare of publicity, were innocent of any terrorist activity. The lives of these individuals, branded forever in the public eye as threats to society, have inevitably been ruined with the consequential adverse effect on their family and loved ones.

We respect your view. But what is trying to be said is if you dont agree with this particular way then please dont discourage it. Last thing anyone wants is a negative debate spiralling out of control on this thread.
If that wasnt your intention then i apologise sincerely :)

1) It's against Islam to commit crime, so they shouldn't have done whatever they did.
2) What do you mean "our people." Just the fact that they're Muslim lawbreakers doesn't mean we need to get only them out of prison, or lessen their detentions. You should be nice to Muslims but there are laws religiously and politically.
