Ramadan Mubarak! Help IHRC this Ramadan

Assalaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu.

We pray that Allah will accept the good deeds and multiply the reward of everyone this blessed month.

This November marks the 10th anniversary of IHRC’s struggle against injustice. The IHRC continues to defend the oppressed abroad with a number of country-specific projects highlighting the situation in places like Turkey, Ethiopia, China, Palestine, Iraq, and Chechnya.

We continue to campaign for prisoners who are held because of their religious convictions, challenging religious discrimination, and countering the media demonisation of Muslims and Islam. The IHRC’s caseworker continues to support the most vulnerable victims of these aggressions.

By the grace of Allah the IHRC received special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in June this year. More information about our work this year can be found in our newsletter that you can download from the IHRC homepage.

Our work has expanded over the years and we pray that our support for victims of oppression can expand even more with the help of Allah s.w.t.

We humbly ask that you remember IHRC again this year. IHRC relies on its many supporters for their financial and physical support and their prayers, to remain an effective and independent organisation. Please help us stay that way and develop, so that we can help all those asking for our support.

You can support IHRC by:

1. Setting up a standing order for IHRC.
2. Arranging a jumuah collection at your local mosque(s).
3. Consider giving your Zakah to IHRC.
4. Making an on-line donation to IHRC.
5. Buying your Eid cards, and IHRC books and reports, on-line.

1. Set up a standing order for IHRC and encourage others to do the same. Our standing order form is available at: http://www.ihrc.org.uk/file/standingorderform.pdf (http://www.ihrc.org.uk/file/standingorderform.pdf)
Please fill in the form and return it to us, at the address provided on the form.

2. Arrange a jumuah collection at your local mosque(s). IHRC is happy to provide newsletters and/or speakers to compliment a fundraising collection. Please contact Sr Karin on karin@ihrc.org or call 0208 904 4222 for further information.

3. Consider giving your Zakah this Ramadan to IHRC. You may give your Zakah to IHRC by posting us a cheque with a filled-in zakah form available at http://www.ihrc.org.uk/file/donation_form.pdf (http://www.ihrc.org.uk/file/donation_form.pdf). Or you may give your Zakah on-line at http://www.ihrc.org.uk/zakah.php (http://www.ihrc.org.uk/zakah.php). Please note, unfortunately we cannot accept Fitriyah.

4. Make an on-line donation at http://www.ihrc.org.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=22&sort=3a (http://www.ihrc.org.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=22&sort=3a)

5. Buy your Eid cards, and IHRC books and reports, on-line at
http://www.ihrc.org.uk/catalog/ (http://www.ihrc.org.uk/catalog/)

Alhumdullillah, we can now accept donations and payments made in US dollars or Euros when you shop or donate on our website.

Finally, we ask you to remember us in your du’as and we pray to Allah s.w.t. to reward all your efforts. Ameen.

Your brother in Islam,

Massoud Shadjareh

“And what reason have you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the children, (of) those who say: Our Lord! Cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper.”
