We fought our jihad, a sword in each hand
We were ready to fight for our beliefs, our land
We were ready to completely eliminate
All signs of what opposed us, at any rate
We were ready to make do without any comfort
With our little provisions holding us short
With sweat and dirt soiling our clothes
Lying in wait, listening for the enemy’s blows
If this is what it takes to make us mujaahideen
Then Oh Allah, make us of as-saabireen
We’ve left our families and our homes to fully represent
The ummah we stand for, with our backs bent
Bullets whizzing through the air left, right, center and all
Each man silently wondering who will be the next to fall
Fallen soldiers huddled on the earth, injured or dead
The comrades final goodbyes gone unsaid
At the end we come out ranked as victorious
This is what it took to make it all glorious
But it saddens me deeply for us to have done all this in vain
Because after all our jihad... our ummah’s still going down the drain
