Should just work as soon as you plug in the ethernet, always has for me.

Wa Alaikum Salaam,
Should just work, if you plug in the ethernet cable. If not check if both computers are on the same WORKGROUP:
(Right Click) My Computer > Properties > Computer Name
For wireless you'll have to setup your router via:
http://192.168.0.1 (192.168.0.1) Localhost
The Login details commonly are: User: admin Password: password

Routers are used for networks, it makes allowances for a number of computers to share the same broadband line. For instance my current broadband connection is shared between 2 computers, 1 laptop and some games consoles. If you remember in your last thread I recommend a wireless router, with a modem built-in, that would do the trick.
I think it seems you'll have to install the Modem, if it is plugged/connected to your computer. I imagine it is via USB.
(Right Click) My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager
Will give you a list of all your installed hardware, with a yellow explanation mark next to any problem hardware i.e. not working properly, not installed etc.

Did you find your Modem listed?
I have found this website, ADSL-Business (http://www.adsl-business.co.uk/btvoyager.htm), is that your modem? If it is try downloading and installing the drivers?
Have you plugged in your modem to your laptop? Both eithernet cable and USB?

Better yet, I have found some drivers on BT.com (http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/btbusiness.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_catpage.php?&cat_lvl1=426&cat_lvl2=427&cat_lvl3=969&p_cv=3.969&p_cats=426,427,969&s_cid=btb_FURL_business/help/downloads&com.bea.event.type=linkclick&com.bea.event.type=linkclick&oLName=link.searchresults&oLName=link.searchresults&oLDesc=KB_1027&oLDesc=KB_1027). Is your modem listed there? If so download your drivers and install it. Insha'Allaah.

It's only 2.88Mb, if you've got a memory stick you can transfer it with that, otherwise you could use a CD if you want. Yes, just install it, insha'Allaah it should work.

Wifi works in conjunction with a wireless router/setup. She would still have the same trouble even if her laptop was Wifi. Beause her modem is not wireless.

do what guava said, and if that don't work, then go to your control panel, to network connections, to your intenet connection thing right click it and go to properties, then click on the TCP/IP thing and click 'properties' then click "obtain an ip address automatically" and set the bottom DNS one to automatic as well, then see if it works.

Sorry, the modem is working. What I meant is by installing the drivers onto your laptop, will install the modem, so that it is recognised properly. I believe this was also the advice given to you by their Technical Support staff. Thus they said something about sending a CD to you.
