In the name of Allah, the Guide, the Light
I am delighted to announce that Ummah Quran project now has an official tajweed teacher alhamdulilah. Hes a member of this forum, but wishes to remain anonymous and recently just attained an ijazzah [permission] in recitation of the holy quran in both Hafs and Shu'bah and he is currently learning warsh [all styles of reading, hafs being the standard]. Obiously he is a haafidh aswell masha'Allah wa tabarak'Allah.
He is willing to listen to anyone who wants thier tajweed listened and corrected. You can read to him live or pre recorded and he'll give you feeback insha'Allah. All this will be done via MSN from the comfort of your home so for those who are unable to get a teacher, this is a great opprotunity. UQP students aswell as non students welcome.
It will all be done via MSN but erm, not really going to be giving out his email to every abdullah out there so if you are genuinely interested, then PM me and I will forward you his details insha'Allah.
May Allah reward the brother for taking his time out to teach others how to recite Quran. Ameen
*smiles*
EDIT: THIS IS COMPLETELY FREE AND CHANGE OF PLAN, WILL NOW TAKE PLACE VIA SKYPE

Masha'Allah thts r.good :) , but this would only be appropriate for the brothers coz as far as I know its Haram for a grown woman to recite to a non-mahram man right?
Perhaps theres a sister that knows tajweed etc who cud do it for them inshaAllah
May Allah (swt) reward the brother for his efforts - Aameen

When I was doing a tajweed course mashaAllAh (v.short one, for beginners) we were told that if there is only a male teacher a female can learn tajweed from him, but must only recite in a plain speaking voice and not beautify her voice at all. However he can correct her pronunciation etc. They were hanafi scholars that did the course so maybe thats just the hanafi view?
Another great programme for stuff like this is Skype. I'm not sure a about paltalk but Skype is very good if you don't like paltalk.

Oops sorry should have mentioned but thought it might have been a little obvious. But just to confirm, yes this if for brothers only.
Sorry sisters, erm if I can get hold of a haafidhah with ijaaza whos willing to teach will keep you notified insha'Allah.
And also, edited first post but change of plan, it will now be done over skype. So for the brothers who I have given his email to, do not add him to your MSN, but add him to your Skype. jazak'Allahu khair.

It is but its not impossible here for sisters to get sisters to help them on their tajweed i think. If the only option for them to learn is internet then there are also females on the internet. Even without an actual ijaaza there are ppl who are quite qualified in helping like the sis who helps me it is very useful masha allah :D Also like with this forum i dnt think its beneficial bros and sisters doing tajweed together cos of the possible fitnah, like basically as many ppl are like young, unmarried and all. I have seen even without having voice chats that sometimes we get issues on here, so this cd lead 2 some fitnah in the sense that even if she does not intentionally beautify the voice, still sometimes it can have an effect. Not saying that it is haram, and we do have sisters on the radio here anyway, but for the tajweeds from the forum ppl its better to avoid it. Also cos doing tajweed with a brother teacher it will be a regular contact, and if that was like a regular one-to-one contact even more so it leads to fitnah and especially being that online ppl are maybe a little more relaxed too?
So bascially just from this project we dont really want to endorse it, because we would be responsible for ne harm which came from it :S

Update from the brother: for the brothers who have got his email, he said to email him to arrange a time as he hardly logs into Skype. So email and then we can make an arrangement from there insha'Allah
:salams
anyone wanting to learn tajweed online can visit this website. They have the lessons in different languages.

This is true, this brother should not be listening to sisters period. There is great Fitnah in the voice, and hearing a non-mahram sister in not allowed, and there is no khair in what can lead to Fitnah. Also one can not read Tajweed without reading nice and proper, so this notion of reading in a simple voice goes out the window.
There are Haafidha sisters on here who can help sisters if they want to learn Tajweed, as for the brothers, there are brothers on here who have ijazah and can help you. Keep the sexes separated and dont open the door of Fitnah, wal fitnatu ashadu minal qatl.
